Browse Forums Feng Shui 1 Jan 14, 2009 9:16 pm The land we like the look of is facing an oncoming street like a t intersection, so we face the road. I know this is bad feng shui wise but we really like the land. Will it be possible to direct the energy away from coming straight into the house? Or should we look at different land? Re: T Instersection with Land 3Jan 15, 2009 10:38 am Well i did some research and decided to answer my own questions, but i'm still open to any other feedback.
Quote: Question Is buying a house at a t intersection with a cul de sac street bad luck? Answer A T intersection, with the house positioned where the vertical line of the T meets the horizontal, is traditionally not considered a good location. The traditional reason is that the qi from the street slams into the house and thus causes problems for occupants, especially a lot of stress. Now science can explain why a T intersection is not a good location. A T intersection is generally very accident-prone because people often do not acknowledge right-of-way. Interestingly, a quiet (or rural) T intersection is the most likely to cause accidents, and especially for senior drivers. These intersections cause “T-bone” or right-angle crashes, which cause more fatalities. Someone living in a house on a T intersection might have difficulty maneuvering out of the driveway because of the right-of-way issue, and be more prone to accidents. Depending on the grade of the intersection, accidents could end up in the yard, in the house, or blocking access for occupants. And a steady diet of car crashes and near-misses would be stressful to witness or maneuver around. In general, a house on a T intersection is not a good location. You can justify that by feng shui or by traffic data. And then there is this delightful story: http://edgar03.com/tbas/stone.htm Quote: So if you have a home which is situated like this then you would want to place a Tai San Shi Kan Ton stone between your home and the intersection of the roads, to keep the road Chi, which can be thought of as a flowing river of Chi, from uncontrollably flowing into your home and overwhelming it with its ceaseless energy And I've also just remembered something.. my friends mum is a feng shui consultant and her house is at the end of a T Interesection.. so i'm guessing she'll be able to give me advice on how to fix it. I really want this land! I did notice though this block and the block next to it, same size, same street, same everything, but the block with the t-intersection if $1,000 less. Hmmm. Re: T Instersection with Land 5Jan 15, 2009 10:43 am I'd be more annoyed by all the lights shining at the front of the house (esp if bedrooms are at the front) when people get to the intersection and then stop to check traffic After 4 years - we're in! Re: T Instersection with Land 6Jan 15, 2009 11:00 am There's another thread running today with some peoples thoughts re placement of a block and a bit of info on T intersections:
https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=12693 ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! Re: T Instersection with Land 7Jan 15, 2009 11:07 am Also think about cars always slowing down and accelerating at the junction, consider the noise level and the amount of exhaust coming out... Unfortunately the block i liked which was next to this land, was taken quick smart. We don't have our deposit yet.. so we may have to wait for new blocks to become available. Re: T Instersection with Land 9Jan 15, 2009 3:21 pm I mentioned this in the other thread...
donuts We have not had any problems yet living at the top of a T intersection -- and we have no fence yet so the house is very vulnerable atm! We don't have any sidelights/windows around the front door so no headlights come streaming down our hallway, but I don't miss them! Master bedroom is also one of the front rooms, we only have redi shades in that window at the moment and we I don't get any headlights in my face when I am trying to sleep. I guess it depends how busy the street is. Ours is fairly quiet so far Am looking forward to getting a fence though...just for the extra security, and just in case anyone comes hooning down the street straight for us. (We are in the west after all hehe.) Re: T Instersection with Land 12Jan 15, 2009 9:38 pm It can be worked around - but - what volume of traffic do you expect along the T street?
It makes difference IMO. As to what it's like - I suggest you go stand at the end of a busy T street somewhere that does not have lights - the feel what the energy is like as the cars head towars you. Then stand on the same busy street but say 200 metres up and watch the cars go past you - as opposed towards you. You'll notice the difference. And I don't thinks walls can stop that energy. Steve Re: T Instersection with Land 13Jan 15, 2009 9:51 pm I have a very strong interest in Feng Shui though only have a basic understanding of it.....
I grew up in a house facing a T-intersection....the headlights weren't an issue for me, but in mum & dads bedroom l'm sure it would've been. Even at a young age the constant noise from cars braking, turning and whizzing by plus the accidents and near misses, well we never played out the front yard and l never really felt settled. Must be the excessive energy. On top of that, my parents were always stressed and constantly argued...and they eventually split up. Not saying that the house location had anything to do with it, but l'm sure now, it would not have helped. We bought a home a few years ago, which was on a t-intersection, but not quite..more like half the house was facing the intersection. Now I was well aware of the FS thing then, but l thought seeing that we weren't exactly on the intersection it wouldn't really affect us. Our bedroom was at the front, the window almost aligned with the intersection. Well it was, the headlights, braking & turning cars and having to be extra careful when reversing.....all annoying! When we were looking for a block last year...my number one thing was l would immediately refuse to look at any block on a t-intersection or a corner (not so much for FS reasons). But. if you really like the block, and l suppose it depends on how heavy the traffic will be, then perhaps look into the FS remedies as others have suggested. Just my two cents Re: T Instersection with Land 14Feb 10, 2009 11:44 pm maybe we're superstitious but we avoided blocks at the end of a T-intersection. Friend of mine is into FS and says that it has something to do with energy/water running directly to your front door. And in the 18th C they used to bury criminals at crossroads so their souls wouldn't come back to haunt ppl <bit creepy>.
But my grandma lived in house no. 4 at a T intersection and didn't have a very happy life - lots of fighting, sickness and conflict in that house. Whether that was the number, house location, the fact that it was made from asbestos, or she was a poor migrant with a troubled past, I don't know - but just in case we've avoided the combination. Whether you believe in FS or not, the lights would annoy me the most. edit: now I think of it she lived the the end of a triangle where 5 streets intersected .. bit more than a t-intersection . Re: T Instersection with Land 15Feb 11, 2009 12:29 pm We have quite a few houses in my area which are on T intersections, about every 12 months there is an accident and these are fairly big accidents, not just going through a fence but also ploughing into the house. For this reason I would never live on a T intersection Re: T Instersection with Land 16Mar 02, 2009 8:07 pm Chinese tend to avoid houses facing T intersections. From what I heard from some FS believers, the most important thing is to avoid having your front door directly facing the T. If you can, adjust your door so that it would not directly face the empty street. Hope this helps. Re: T Instersection with Land 17Oct 21, 2009 5:49 pm old but interesting post. Just refrain from buying houses that are too near to T or X junctions. fengshui or no fengshui. glaring car lights and noise pollution hurts one's health. And you wont feel easy letting your kids playing at the lawn. From fengshui point of view. At a junction, regardless of T or X or whatever. Qi from different directions meet and the flow of energy gets mixed up turned into a mess. Any good energy force arriving at a junction instantly turned into BAD energy form. The house wont be able to absorb any Qi(energy) from this turbulence let alone absorbing good Qi. The house is right in front of a tornado of bad Qi. Depending on the luck of the house owner, any good luck will end up as average/bad luck. Any bad luck could aggravate and turned into a disaster. This is one type house to aviod at all cost. Point to note; if a man is destined to live a 100 yrs. He wont die at 50yrs old by staying in such a house but perhaps after his 50th birthday - he will spend the remaining years on a wheelchair. When death is not possible - any and everything else is possible. This explains why some people are ok living in such houses - just that the time has yet to come. Ching Singapore Re: T Instersection with Land 19Oct 22, 2009 6:09 pm forgot to mention this - there is no cure/no remedy/no nothing to such houses. houses directly at the X junction or at the end of the T junction. anyone trying to sell you some cure or snake-oil to cut down the effect of this - just show the conman your middle finger on my behalf. Re: T Instersection with Land 20Feb 03, 2010 3:08 pm I am not a conman . nor a expert. If staying in the house is the only option, that there are few way you can try. I am not a expert, but growing up in a "feng shui" heavily influenced family, I do see and hear a bit. What's bad about The the house located on the top of "T" in Feng Shui is due to the invisible bad "Qi" or energy just like a arrow shoot into the heart of house, however growing a climbing type of vegetation maybe use as a deflector to slow down the flow, even a Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ can deflector can help by hang it outside of the door face the street. good luck.
