Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Locked out :( 205Nov 27, 2015 9:13 am We got rid of the store room but kept a little wall next to the shower just for the toilet roll holder. We got an email for our fixing stage to be paid. However the amount didn't match our contract. Apparently our contract is wrong and they put the figures in the wrong spots. We were expecting to pay $40,364 at this stage but the amount is actually $67,272 and the final payment will be $40,364. Cat_dunc did you have a smaller figure for fixing stage or completion stage? This was one of the salesman's selling points - our last payment would be the largest which was good while we were still paying rent. http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/Fixing%20claim_zpsewm7wkzc.jpg Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Locked out :( 206Nov 27, 2015 9:51 pm Yeah our last one is smaller. $79k for Fixing and $47k Practical Claim. That said what you've got is in your contract!! Both parties signed it... I don't think you should have to pay it in that order if you don't want to. One party can't just decide they want to change the contract- the other party needs to agree. Mistake or not! Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Locked out :( 207Nov 27, 2015 10:01 pm I agree, the contract always takes precedence. They have to change it. Also, the bank will not pay as they already have the scheduled payment in accordance with contract. The painter has been working hard. Walls and eaves have had a coat. The theatre was originally painted the wrong colour but has since been corrected. http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2892_zpsseabwohp.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2888_zpsg2pdcumc.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2883_zpstv0rvggu.jpg I can't say the same about the tiler. The tiler has been going for 3 weeks and he has done the skirting in the toilet and laundry incorrectly. In 3 weeks he's managed to complete the laundry and toilet floor, begin some wall tiles and lay the tiles in the bathroom with no grout as yet. It is so painfully slow. http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2885_zpswcbbm3a5.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2882_zpszwyfmldb.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2880_zpsfgidc8ho.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2891_zpsoff5znyg.jpg The skirting to the laundry and toilet should match the floor tile... Really happy with the floor tile colours though Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Tiling 209Dec 13, 2015 7:56 pm Visited Saturday afternoon and it looked like the tiler had no been there at all. Hope to have an update from the SS tomorrow Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Tiling 212Jan 24, 2016 7:07 pm Haven't been on here in a while! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year Our site supervisor is only back at work tomorrow but we have had some progress! We haven't been able to get into the house for a while however from what we can see the tiling is finished, we have taps and toilets and the garage doors are on. Loving how it looks http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/12508873_10153793640504277_769714624577381484_n_zpsco72dzjk.jpg Well on our way to finishing now Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Tiling 213Jan 24, 2016 7:46 pm Hurray! I love it too. Those colours have come together awesomely. I love the white door and blue/grey roof contrasts. You've done well. You'll have to post some pictures through windows when you get a chance Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Tiling 214Feb 05, 2016 5:43 pm Looks like PCI might be in three weeks. Fingers crossed! http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2921_zpsn9cpogrj.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2934_zpsxwwn0rud.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2936_zps5qcfzgi3.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2935_zpsm6ridbqg.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2932_zpsyumgoioa.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2930_zpszxnjardz.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2927_zpsv9ltdx9a.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2924_zpsxxqinhzz.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2925_zpskglfg5mi.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/IMGP2923_zpsraakeood.jpg Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Tiling 215Feb 06, 2016 4:24 pm Well done KateTodd, soon you will be in your new house. I normally reduce freezer section of the fridge three weeks before the big move, so less perishable goods to carry across. Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Tiling 216Feb 06, 2016 4:25 pm Lovely house! You will get in in no time! Super exciting times! Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Tiling 218Feb 09, 2016 8:33 pm Main floors will be Genesis Bamboo Carbonized colour which is just a coffee colour. We've started getting quotes for turf and the driveway - the main things we want done before we move in. I can't wait to open boxes and see all the stuff I've purchased over the past year! Might be a bit scary what i find Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Tiling 219Feb 10, 2016 8:29 am KateTodd I can't wait to open boxes and see all the stuff I've purchased over the past year! Might be a bit scary what i find I have collected few souvenir from oversea trips. Some boxes goes back to 1998..... I'm scared to open them. Mainly glass wares and vases, not sure if crack or broken. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81624 Re: Our first home - Sekisui Clareville - Tiling 220Feb 12, 2016 4:52 pm We have a PCI date!! 03/03/16 We're so close now http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag440/KateHToddH/12715715_10153839658154277_8666061308441093412_n_zpssmtosfqe.jpg Soak wells and electrical run in happening this week! Summit has told me they will relocate the laundry plumbing after the walls are completed. I'm actually pretty happy… 13 36883 Cant give recommendations in general with that builder, but during the colour selection, this is honestly personal preference. Depends on the style you want. Do you want… 1 627 We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds. The quote above was purely for “pre-wiring” so the blinds company can install the motors and blinds. That’s why we… 5 18372 |
