Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Landscaping 95% don 1048Nov 21, 2015 9:47 am That garden looks fantastic !!!!!! I just love the floating steps, our front is sooo long 22.4 meters from the verge to the garage Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Landscaping 95% don 1049Nov 21, 2015 12:48 pm MattandErin Hi Hootie, have you looked at using IP65 LED strip under your floating steps? http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=5 ... 7675.m4099 you can use RGB controlled or just plain cool/warm white. Hi MattandErin, thanks for the suggestion. I'm actually looking at rigid LED strips with weatherproof cables. The reason is that the LED flexi strips that I used to DIY my camping lights did not last long. I ordered a pair of rigid LED lights recently and they are stronger due to the rigid alu strip that they are mounted on and also brighter. At the moment I'm considering using solar power to power the steps so am just working out how this can be done. Ourmansion The landscaping looks amazing Hootie. Petad That garden looks fantastic !!!!!! I just love the floating steps, our front is sooo long 22.4 meters from the verge to the garage Thanks Ourmansion and Petad, we are very happy with the landscaping. Kids had their first marshmallow roasting session last night and I lost count of how many I ate. Petad - If you have a long walkway from the verge to the house, why not consider a pathway which ends with floating steps nearer the main door? In other news, we got a surprise from Nearmap...they have updated our street but since I am not subscribing to it anymore, this is the extent of the image that I could retrieve from their property section: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I think this photo may have been taken last week. Although the front landscaping was not done yet, the floating steps and firepit are visible! I tend to do indoor installs with the aluminium profile, mainly because ive yet to found a easy product to work with that in aluminium that is still IP rated. you could look at using 12V SLA batteries, with a dusk/dawn sensor and a solar charge controller, mounted in an enclosure - which if its properly sealed could be hidden in under the loose stones. you would still need to put a solar panel somewhere. I want to get some idea of how many we should plant too thanks! Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10595 That is a really good attitude Akin to you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
