Browse Forums Building A New House Re: NEED SOME ADVICE 8May 30, 2015 7:43 pm Sure. yes get what you want. But people should be aware dark roofs do absorb more heat. its basic science. And there is a fair bit of difference even according to Monier (if thinking of their tiles) ... http://www.monier.com.au/Professional/B ... urces.aspx They have the actual figures somewhere. There's only one tile (Vodka) that's classified light. Because the trend is for dark colours. Colorbond's the same ... Dark absorbs more light hence heat http://www.thefifthestate.com.au/innova ... port/60257 “Research shows that light coloured roof tiles can lower the air temperature in the roof space by up to nine degrees compared to dark tiles.” Anyway, it's people's own business if they still want a darker colour Re: NEED SOME ADVICE 9May 30, 2015 7:45 pm What is morka finish? I saw "black roof" and jumped on my hobby horse. Re: NEED SOME ADVICE 15May 31, 2015 7:58 pm I think OP means moroka - the rougher finish than render and what greys would suit.
