Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ If you could share a photo of the bottom of your staircase it would be much appreciated because the photos on your blog do not show the bottom step. I think that you will find that the flared landing it added after... but that is my best guess though. With the decorative cornice... my understanding was that it was placed in only the downstairs living areas. I would also love some clarification around this because the definition of "living area" is not always interpreted the same way. Our drawings just shows it as a normal staircase with a standard first step. Yours actually shows the larger first step. perhaps its different from the Waldorf to the Sandarah? I'ts a shame as i liked the larger first step. Maybe I'm confused about what the flared landing looks like... anyone got some photos? Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7511Apr 07, 2015 12:44 pm Drove past the block to find that the actual slab preparations had commenced. http://itsallaboutthewaldorf.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/slab-preparation.html Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7512Apr 07, 2015 3:38 pm tlblhayward Jasdan PD were getting people to sign an indemnity clause about that bottom step last year ... wonder if they've now made the flared landing an option, instead of standard. ???... please explain! Maybe I'm confused about what the flared landing looks like... anyone got some photos? Wording was as follows: "Thank you for advising us in regards to the issue with the staircase that we have chosen. We are happy to proceed with the existing staircase as proposed in the original plans. We note that there is a potential tripping hazard with this design, however we still wish to proceed with the original staircase that has an angled bottom tread and riser as proposed in our drawings/plans; we accept full responsibility with this selection." We never had to sign one, but viralpatel and sliick mentioned it way back here: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=44910&p=1193843&hilit=waldorf+staircase+sign#p1193843 We have the same flared, bottom step that's in the "Dream Big" brochure photo that you posted, classic option number 2 staircase. Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7513Apr 07, 2015 3:45 pm viralpatel tlblhayward viralpatel... please check your plans and post up an image if you need help interpreting them. Mine is same as Deefeez on drawing but in reality it is different for deefeez and mine... not sure which one is right... Hey VP, Your place looks great from the outside, love your alfresco and upstairs retreat area... have you officially moved in yet? I'd check with your BC, but probably a safe bet that it will look like the brochure. Don't know whether you'll get a letter to sign ... as I said, we never got a letter but have still wound up with the flared step. Not sure why some people got this and not others ... And yeah, Zarby, I think you might be right in that the staircase in the Sandarah is just a straight step at the bottom, as standard - still looks nice though!
