Last week felt like a whirlwind of activity with the wall going down and the bricks going up! The brickies worked extremely hard to move things along quickly and by the end of last week (Saturday being a work day as well) they had the front wall from garage all the way up to roof complete plus parts of the side. This also included sections of the wall on the eastern side (sorry no photos since it is the section where I had the boundary wall issue) This week hasn't really worked for them at all, they had a good start but the rain has rolled in and the delivery of bricks delayed till tomorrow. (it kinda works since either way they would not have been able to work) This has slowed them down and it means it costs them money being idle... anyhoo .. some photos ... !! scaffolding up! I can't wait for the bricks to be all cleaned up and having roof and gutters up .. a shame really .. would have liked to be at the stage where downpipes are in and the rain coming down means I have a tank filled with water before I move back in hahahaha Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - bricks 332Mar 24, 2015 8:39 pm Excellent progress, it's looking great! And big! It's great when builders do the right thing. It's great when builders do the right thing. Via Tapatalk. viewtopic.php?t=72683 thanks trixee ... it wasn't until I took the photo with the full side view that I realised the enormity of the house!.. I'm hopeful that bricks will be complete at the very latest just before Easter! ... and more photos to follow! ... I know the builders will be asking me to pay up very quickly too!! Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - bricks 334Mar 24, 2015 10:32 pm Yeah it's huge!! And looks terrific! Some pictures it looks nearly three stories but I think the scaffolding makes it deceptive. I was reading my daughter a book about the three pigs, your house reminds me of the brick one the wolf couldn't blow down haha this is a good thing Super handy to have those parking spots right there for the builders. Means no cranky neighbours from streets being filled with cars? Do you have any light weight cladding on yours? Re: Alkira Homes 335Mar 24, 2015 10:40 pm cat_dunc Yeah it's huge!! And looks terrific! Means no cranky neighbours from streets being filled with cars? Do you have any light weight cladding on yours? hahaha the bricks is a stand out at the moment and very in your face .... hopefully once the rest of the house is put together it will soften it all up. those parking spots are really handy, where I took the photo is the bus stop! (as well as local shops behind me)... it is a risk for rowdy kids and a potential for graffiti cladding is just off the master room at the front of the house so kinda in the middle above the entrance, to be painted surfmist Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - bricks 336Mar 25, 2015 7:48 am wow, looking great deluded! Love the parking spaces too but can see how that could be a bit annoying on busy days too. The brickwork is looking great and it looks like things are moving at a decent pace (I know it's never as fast as you would want). Can't wait till you get the roof and gutters etc and see it all come together Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - bricks 339Mar 26, 2015 9:42 am That is a massive house Deluded!
