Welcome tbmc_house, what stage are you up to? If you signed the plans off they might actually charge you but if it's just first lot of plans before that and you have evidence you asked for it they should update it as they might have just forgotten to change from the standard. Happened to us as we certainly didn't ask to put a fireplace on the door to the alfresco lol Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 3265Jan 28, 2015 6:58 pm Callie -congratulations Has anyone asked for quotes on fit outs for the wardrobes just an estimate on prices please Welcome tbmc_houzz KDR. I forgot how expensive that was). I'm wondering if anyone knows of a display home in sydney (any builder will do) which has either laminate flooring or bamboo?? I'd love to walk on some to get a "feel" before our flooring appointment. Thanks. It's pictured in the Villina brochure. Dark bamboo floor. I just can't remember which one but have a feeling it's oran park. Accent are ok priced and might let you upgrade the yes tiles. Only if hubby agreed with the wood it was a few thousand to upgrade though Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 3270Jan 29, 2015 6:51 am Thanks marina12 and Mgardz. The salesman at the oran park office tile me that the floor in the villina was real wood floor. Maybe I'll ask the main office. Any known places for laminate is also appreciated. I'm heading up to kellyville on the weekend so ill drag my husband through all the houses.... Again and again and again until I find one with the laminate or bamboo. Mwa ha ha ha...... Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 3274Jan 29, 2015 3:39 pm Good to see everyone is up and running after the break. As for us we are just waiting for our construction certificate which we should have hopefully early next week and then our file will be validated and moved into construction...hooray. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 3275Jan 29, 2015 4:31 pm Good news Shiraz1! We got another post contract variation but it pertains to costing out the BAL PA and we were under the PA which made room for the stackers we upgraded and the over budget items from our appointments. I didnt know that it included the screen doors as we cant move in without them! massive plus! Now hoping the estate will approve our plans so we can finally go to council! I've been reaserching bamboo flooring and its seems a very popular product in this thread and in general. I've been looking into the idea of not needing the scotia (beading edging) around the kicthen benches. It's really unattractive, escpecially if the colour match isn't perfect. Anyway many websites say you don't need this edging if you install the kitchen first (masterton do this) then lay the bamboo up to the base of the cabinets then lastly put the kitchen kickboards on over the bamboo so the required "gap" for bamboo expansion is behind the kickboards under the cabinet. This seems very simple to me and wonder has anyone enquires about this?? Has anyone been quoted to try to remove this scotia edging?? We won't be having waterfall benchtops so that won't be a problem. Thanks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 3278Jan 30, 2015 7:35 am Lincashhal no enquiries made but i imagine it wouldn't be that hard to do after handover? Or simply ask them not to instal the edging? Saves them time & money as they don't have to send someone back. I don't like that edging either but have had bigger battles to deal with & have not focused on that one ... On a brighter note (& hooray that the rain has finally stopped) we got "insulated" yesterday .... House is a big fluffy blanket as we have insulation everywhere (soundproofing in internal walls and ground floor ceiling, as well as the usual external wall & ceiling stuff). Gyprock Monday. Can't believe it. Sometimes it seems like these days will never arrive. I asked my SS yesterday for some guesstimates re handover ... He said end of march .... I said you're kidding me (we are still 2 or 3 weeks away from lock up!) ... He said let me check bookings etc ... If we push things through, should be end of march. Now ... I'm sure those of you already in construction will know that "M pushing through your build to get it finished quickly" falls somewhere between the tooth fairy and unicorn sightings i had last week! Why he is telling me these unrealistic dates is beyond me ... We know it is going to a may (if we are lucky!) handover .... 2013 1st tender 24/10 Dep. 18/11 2014 5% 25/02 CDC approval 5/5 Demo 26/5 Pool 3/7 Valid'n 10/7 Slab 11/8 Frame 19/9 Bricks 23/10 2015 Roof 3/12 Lock up 11/2 PCI 31/3 Final insp. & keys 30/4 Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 3279Jan 30, 2015 8:38 am Villinaeliters glad to hear its moving along nicely wow March handover is that when contract is up or is it May, how exciting not long to go the weeks a flying by.
