We are really really happy and enjoying our new house. I cant stop cleaning this place. Hahaha!!!! StephyD.... With the porcelain tiles I really recommend you give them a nice sweep then mop only with warm soapy.water. bcos its such a light glossy colour you find that everything marks amd foot prints stands out. Here is our kitchen at night. I was so bummed that the kitchen was a little bit small and not really loving the black splash back tiles before but once everything is in and you add your appliances it really does make a huge difference. The white cabinets, wild rocks stone bench and all the silver appliances blends in so well and ties it all together. Also, loving and enjoying our WIP with the fridge tucked away in there, heaps of space. Might add a cavity slider down the track. Deluxes... your dark mosiac splash back will look so beautiful after everything is installed Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Simonds Prague Melb-- PCI 14th August!! HOORAY 145Sep 01, 2014 8:56 pm It's beautiful... I love the twinkly lights reflecting off those lovely tiles I think your black splashback is a great pick with your other kitchen choices, it adds interest and contrast but ties in with all the other colours perfectly. Yes I agree, you do need to wait till its finished, all appliances in and clean to see how it all comes together! I know mine will be fine, just need the finishing touches for it to work. I'm so glad you love it, and you really should. It's a very very nice home Re: Simonds Prague Melb-- PCI 14th August!! HOORAY 146Sep 02, 2014 5:21 am It looks wonderful with all the appliances installed and in place. I hate to say 'I told you so' - but I'm not surprised you like your kitchen now I won't have a door between the pantry and the scullery bit either - but I'm also not sure I'd want to sacrifice shelving to add a sliding door, and I couldn't afford what they quoted for cavity sliders. I'm considering bifold doors or maybe even bifold shutter blinds - when open it would need much less space than a normal door or slider I think/hope. Re: Simonds Prague Melb-- PCI 14th August!! HOORAY 147Sep 05, 2014 10:25 pm Hi bit of random question but was wondering which estate you built in ? Re: Simonds Prague Melb-- PCI 14th August!! HOORAY 148Sep 05, 2014 11:21 pm Hi Sapphire I built in Alarah estate, cranbourne West. Sth East Melb. Are you building close by here too??? Its a lovely area where everything is new. They are going to build shops, schools, child care, libary just around the corner in the next estate (Clarinda Estate) which in smack bang in the middle of Alarah estate and Ambrosia estate. So we have in just a little over a week now and we are loving life so much. every morning when I wake up I have this big smile on my face, it is such an accomplishment We ordered our blockout blinds 3 weeks ago but still yet to arrive. I have to give them a ring. Pricing was fairly reasonable too. We got blockouts with tje sheer blocks in master bedroom and just normal blockout to other windows. Installed foxtel, antenna and extra tv point in study. Hubby has kinda started on landscaping. letter box in and hubby has leveled both sides of the house ready for plastic overlay and then rocks fill out. Love how seamless the tiles look throughout. I extended them in the bathrooms and all the way up the bath hob aswell. Here are some bathroom pics. So seamless.. love it Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ [IMG]http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/09/05/496f2d30d2b2993d85f43c364d6a83b2.jpg[/IMG Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Full length mirror Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Simonds Prague Melb-- PCI 14th August!! HOORAY 152Sep 06, 2014 6:06 pm Thanks for the reply yeah we are close, we are building in Casiana Grove. I can't wait until they build of that, will be a great community to live in with all the estates joined up. Your house looks great what did you use to post your photos? I'm going to start a post like yours but can't seem to work out how to post them lol Re: Simonds Prague Melb-- PCI 14th August!! HOORAY 153Sep 06, 2014 7:12 pm justheart you're right it did pay off to have those tiles continued from the floor - it looks beautiful - very fancy hotel-y! Re: Simonds Prague Melb-- PCI 14th August!! HOORAY 154Sep 06, 2014 11:26 pm Wow JustHeart, what a beautiful home. I've just read your thread from the beginning. This forum is massive, I can't possibly cover all the threads, as much as I'd love too. Anyway, I've really enjoyed reading your journey. Your kitchen and dining is smashing. How did you end up laying the tiles down the hall ... one big one in the middle? Re: Simonds Prague Melb-- PCI 14th August!! HOORAY 155Sep 07, 2014 12:13 am BTW, I don't know if you ever found out about retro-fit waterfall edges. We've got them on our island ... $4k extra! I thought that price included them on the back bench too. Apparently not. Wow! Our kitchen is like yours where the back bench 'floats' (it's not set between walls). So I found this idea for low cost 'waterfalls'. Check it out if you're still interested. However, I think your kitchen is beautiful! http://www.thenester.com/2014/02/how-to ... -edge.html Simonds Prague in MELB- All Moved In ;) 156Sep 07, 2014 12:48 am Hahaha finally someone who understands where im Coming from About my kitchen dilema..!!! Thank u Re: Simonds Prague Melb-- PCI 14th August!! HOORAY 157Sep 07, 2014 1:03 am It looks lovely anyway. But yes, if we were to do that, I really don't think anyone would know (except us) Start with the back wall Oh, the waterfalls are $2.5k per island (not $4k) sorry. Still, that's pretty stiff! At that rate, that would be $5K in waterfalls for us not having walls to frame the back bench. Re: Simonds Prague Melb-- PCI 14th August!! HOORAY 158Sep 07, 2014 1:14 am Our hallway is 1400 wide . We used two big ones in the middle and cuts on either side . Just heart how do you clean your tiles . We have similar ones. Most of the time they do my head in . Always love new tips on cleaning them . But I think its trial and error . Simonds Prague in MELB- All Moved In ;) 159Sep 07, 2014 1:20 am I went into Masters a few weeks ago and they quoted me $1700 for both ends including installation (island only) in the same wild rocks stone.
I feel like one of those bridezillas hahaha instead of going nuts about your wedding your going nuts about your build... lol Re: Simonds Prague Melb-- PCI 14th August!! How did you end up laying the tiles down the hall ... one big one in the middle? We ended up with one big one in the middle and cuts either side. it worked out in our favour. The tiler was trying to convince us to go the other way which I reckon is easier for him lay but looks so weird. Lucky I didn't take his advise. Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down.
