Could someone shed some lights on the following upgrade?

1. Cost of installing 450mm eaves to the whole house excluding front facade & alfresco (we have these eaves as we upgrade the facade and alfresco option)

2. Cost of upgrading the roof insulation from R2.5 to R4.0 and upgrading sisalation in external wall to R2.5?

I've just looked at some of our quotes from last year and eaves around the sides and back of the house were around $1900. Our house is 29 squares.

Don't have any info on the insulation sorry.

So yours is 450mm or 600mm eaves?

That was for 450mm. But we scrapped them in the end as we preferred the look of the brickwork above the windows and they don't put brickwork above windows if you have eaves (i.e. windows sit right underneath the eaves).

600mm eaves - $2400

R2.5 wall & R5.0 ceiling insulation - $3500

Those prices are for the Wembley.

Make sure you ask for wall insulation on the inside garage wall to keep the cold out of your home.

Anyone else have problems with invoices being the wrong amount? Got out first one tonight and it's our old ( non variant ) amount? Just so happens all the discount they promised wasn't in our contract so they had to put it in a variation instead but seems they have forgotten this at our invoice?

I was told any variation or discount will come off your last invoice.
Just make sure you have the signed post variation contract as a statement of proof.

Yes, that's correct - PCV Credits or Discounts will come off the last invoice (we got our last invoice last week).

We requested for our post contract variation amount (around $5k) to be taken off the Fixing stage invoice and that's what they have done. I thought the last Invoice was too small of an amount to be taken off of.

Just spoke with PD our variation is about a 9k discount and they have agreed to take it off the initial slab payment. So that's good.

I got the PCI date next Thursday with SS, is that means that's the day I should go with my independent inspector? Normally how many days later will be the settlement/handover day?

You probably need to organise with your SS and/or BC and make sure they know you are using an independent inspector, because I believe the regular PCI process changes when you have an inspector come through.

I noticed from your blog, your using Hawksburn bricks, i'm using the same bricks on my build, how did they turn up?

Can anyone assist us. We request the council approved plans for the bank 2 weeks ago but we didn' t hear anything although BC said he will speak to the business manager tomorrow which was 28.04.14. We contacted him everyday this week but he was away till wednesday and today he is in but said it will take another 2 weeks.
Does it take 4 weeks to get the approvals from da council.

It can take a long time or a short time... it all depends on how busy your local council is.
