There are curl grubs which will eat the roots of grass & plants, then turn into a black beetle-the birds tend to go after them and will leave lots of holes from their beaks. They can dig a good hole - but not that deep - so not them. I'd love it if roos roamed the western suburbs of Melbourne thanks for your reply tho St Mike Well - when I lived in Canberra we had them. Now up here they're everywhere !!! It is nice to get up and see them on the golf course, ducks nearby, cranes and a multitude of other birds. And - emus - would you believe. But - no - sounds like you may have a grub problem. Re: What's drilling holes in my lawn? 7Aug 19, 2013 2:06 pm The holes are neat & round, about the width of a pencil with no sign of dirt mounds next to them You could just keep going when you poke a stick down them, they are like a long tube? I'll keep researching Thanks again for all your replies, really appreciate it. Jazz ps: would love to see roos or any wild life for that matter out my front door St Mike Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: What's drilling holes in my lawn? 8Sep 21, 2013 11:23 pm Sounds like black beetle, pain in the bum. Pretty amazing as they come out of the ground after 17year almost exactly to the day that they went under ground. Good luck with your investigations. I use Tramex moisture meter and it will tell me instantly if the wall is cement sheet or plaster or masonite but most people dont have the equipment. 5 7214 it depends on the natural ground level, if they excavated their boundary wall needed to be built as a retaining wall. If you filled, which sounds like the case then you… 1 7213 I know foam has been around since the 90's and CSR started manufacturing Hebel in 1989, so it's definitely possible 5 5548 |
