Eeek - We're embarking on a knockdown rebuild! We had to do our flooring through the builder and it cost us about $6000, but it was only about $1500 more then the builders standard range of tiles, So I felt it was a good thing to pay for I am happy with it, though haven't moved in yet. It looks pretty real and after living in houses/rentals with the wood laminate I love that it doesn't sound hollow and I don't have to stress if water or anything else is spilt on the floor, particularly in the kitchen. I think for some people they can't get past it being vinyl. I know I was originally skeptical as my experience with vinyl was in the house I grew up in, built in the 80's and the sheet laminate that was in my first house (the previous owners did a cheap reno). Yikes! I thought it might be the art select. The classic oak is beautiful Fmac, it was one of my initial choices but decided to go with something with a little more red in it so looking at Lancewood or Vintage Pine at the moment Do you have any photos of it installed? Would love to see!! Yes I really do want the vinyl. It doesn't bother me that it's vinyl, it's more my family that is bothered by it. It's fantastic your builder installed them for you! How many square feet did you get covered? For around 200 sq ft I was quoted 16,300 for supply and install. I'm trying to figure out if is is a good price and I'm starting to think it is. Here are some pictures but I find they show up a little more orange then they are in real life. Yes I remember it being more yellow than orange. I love that it has a slightly aged look to it too ! Thank you for posting the photos So it was 6000 all up including supplies? No feather coat correct? I was quoted 50 per sq ft for the Van Gogh so you must have got a great deal on the product! I'm only about 80 bigger than you and I'm looking at 16,300!! That's quite a dfference. HD Re: Karndean looselay vinyl planks - any good? 40Aug 07, 2013 8:44 pm It cost us $6257 for the living areas but that's probably only about 60m2 when you take out wet areas and bedrooms. They didn't level our floor and you can see in one spot where the slab wasn't level Hi l plan to install a self adhesive vinyl plank floor. l first need to attach masonite boards underlay to by plywood subfloor of my house.
