It was a big bill . Our house was completed last year, & throughout the summer months, it was nice to have "cool" lighting, not your normal halogen or standard lighting. Once you try this kind of lighting, you can't really go back to conventional lighting, oh, did I mention they look stylish too Re: LED Downlights: to LED or not to LED, that is the questi 149Apr 15, 2013 9:44 pm I hope that by being LED the bill will be okay, not to mention I'm always on at the kids about not leaving lights on in rooms as they leave Re: LED Downlights: to LED or not to LED, that is the questi 150Apr 16, 2013 5:28 am Don't worry, they don't take up as much power as your normal lighting. Our lighting bill is acceptable, because like you my husband ensures we don't leave lights on in a room that isn't being used. I can tell you , you'll be pleasantly surprised at how energy efficient they are . Re: LED Downlights: to LED or not to LED, that is the questi 152Dec 31, 2013 1:07 pm with the latest LED lights I suspect you don't actually need as many of them as you do halogens(now that you are getting near 1000lm LED's), so in theory you could run them on motion sensor timing (or with an ultra low wattage floor light)? and save a LOT more over halogen, I just recently replaced my sisters CFL units with LED as even ignoring the cost the CFL's were only putting out around 210lm while using 11w. we used the SAL Brand of LED Lights: http://www.ledbenchmark.com/display.php ... +Kit+White for a 4x4m room she had 5 x of the 210lm 11w CFL's, I'm 100% sure we could have gotten away with just two of the 750lm SAL units, in the kitchen she's finding that rather than having all 5 on, she only needs three, so considering the 700lm were $30 each I'm quite sure over just a few years they'll be saving over even the CFL's. Funny thing is she still has some old halogen's around other parts of the house, oh well! give it time. Slooowwwwly getting a Manhatten 35 in Middleton Grange I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 16338 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6779 |
