I had done some reading through the forum about others who have been granted an extension to the FHOB, but most seem to be related to contracted builds.
I was wondering if anyone has applied for an extension to the FHOB as an owner-builder, and if so were you successful? Is the chance of a successful extension greatly reduced as an owner-builder? What sort of delays do they generally grant an extension for?
I'm a bit stressed out at the moment (moreso) because in none of my previous reading and talk to the SRO did I find out that there is an 18 month completion date from the start of construction, unfortunately due to a range of reasons completion has taken me 29 months. So now I am applying for the FHOG and FHOB, and at the same time asking for an extension, something (had I known) I would have had to do almost a year ago. I don't fancy my chances of success at this point in time.

I asked for an extension ans succeed. You would have to prove to them that the delay was out of your control. Firstly are you sure that its 18months and not two years? I am not up to date with it all however some portion of the bonus was 24 months.
Next when did you actually move into this house. Did you live there before it was occupied??? If this is the case show them utility bills proving that you actually where living there. I actually had a near map aerial shot i should them that happen to highlight my rubbish bins etc and that I was living there. They where happy with that.
