Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Sloping Block Builders: Finding one and Costs 4Jul 17, 2016 8:52 pm Hiya, So converting that to per square its around 12,000 (9.5 sqm roughly). I should have said we want brick, but a builder I spoke to a builder recently he started with its around 17,000 to 19,000, but these guys do "prestige type" homes, part of me thinks he is busy and has other clients and won't move unless its for a larger profit. We also want high ceilings, aircon, heating and decking. I think its time to reach out to volume builders also, we went to Porter Davis they never even got back to us. Thanks a lot guys this is really helping. Lokster Re: Sloping Block Builders: Finding one and Costs 7Jul 19, 2016 1:08 pm We got a quote from coral homes here in qld. The house was priced from 230000 but once we told of site and a few extra the price came back at 360000 and that didn't include other things we wanted so would've been even more. The house was 311 sm. It's hard to pick a builder that you can trust. We're going with a up and coming volume builder whom we subcontract for so at least we have seen the quality of work. Re: Sloping Block Builders: Finding one and Costs 8Jul 19, 2016 1:22 pm We have a 7m slope over our block and are building with Fairhaven Homes and out site costs were circa $60K. Our build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82369&p=1525857&hilit=fairhaven#p1525857 Re: Sloping Block Builders: Finding one and Costs 9Jul 31, 2016 8:41 pm So after speaking to some other builders Prices range from 16k-19 k per Sq (roughly 9 square meters), one architect quoted 5 K per square meter. Thats over a million for a 300 Square meter house. Am I taking crazy pills or are these prices crazy? Old Bloke thats a lovely build well be following your thread from now on, Craigasaurus, I agree which is why we are looking around atm. Re: Sloping Block Builders: Finding one and Costs 10Jul 31, 2016 11:04 pm That sounds crazy to me. Although we did hear that potential buyers of the vacant block next to us were quoted $90k for earthworks for a house on stilts! That was insane. We have already retained one side and there aren't the easement issues that we had... without even thinking about what are they doing if the house is on stilts??? Yup, my thoughts exactly, some of the custom builders are saying for a 40 Square house be prepared for up to 650K... I really need to look for more builders around the area. I get its not cheap, but this is the 20K per square range, its insane. Give Jonathan a call. Tell him you know me. He is in my opinion the best surveyor I have ever worked with. His number is 0425 285 622 All the best Simeon 3 12392 i did click it, still couldnt make it out rofl. in any case, doesnt look like too extreme a slope, you may be in luck. Just shoot out some emails to volume builders in… 3 18562 Hi, We are looking for a builder that can build a small home (smaller length) on a sloping site.
