Do people bother to do that ? Do the carpet layers have something that does it ? We are putting down a mix of timber and carpet. I would like to try to get it as clean as possible, I was thinking of renting a wet /dry vacuum cleaner. Just make sure you remove all the lumps and bumps in preperation for any type of floor covering. But MOSTLY that they are smooth and flat. Any lumps and bumps should be cleaned and scraped off, the floor dry vacuumed and the floors checked for flatness. A good dry vacuum should be sufficient. Its not imperative, but you could seal the floor beforehand to bind up any dust. As a carpet cleaner, I often find dust coming up around the edge of carpets which is a PITA! It is sometimes timber from where skirtings have been fitted, and sometimes concrete dust. So when the layers are on the job, be sure to see that its vacuumed around the room perimeters before the carpets are laid. Ash. Hey There. No problems re jumping in.
