Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 27, 2010 8:07 am Hopefully moving back into my home mid May After living with carpet in the living areas for EVER, we've gone with spotted gum flooring which is going to look pretty good! I would like a BIG rug for the lounge area - designer rug comes to mind I don't want the run of the mill ie Harvey Norman etc altho I believe they have some nice ones - I'd love find omething totally different for a contemporary living area. Anyone know anywhere in Melbourne that's worth a look thanks in advance Jazz Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: Big Rugs ~ where to buy in Melbourne? 2May 12, 2010 11:51 pm I am at Harvey Norman Chadstone. We can have a custom rug made through our supplier in any size, any design, any colour, in pure wool and shipped to you at a fraction of the cost (last time I checked) that you would pay at a boutique retailer.

Re: Big Rugs ~ where to buy in Melbourne? 6May 17, 2010 10:02 pm Just an update. If you went down the path of a fully customized, any design (providing copyright laws are not broken), any size, any shape, in 100% Pure New Zealand Wool, hand made then you are looking at a general price of $300 m2. That includes Airfreighting it here around 8 weeks from the day you sign off on the order. A wool rug, that's in-stock will be able to be purchased for around half that rate, as a rough guide. There are some rugs that sell both above and below that of course, some under license from a designer or brand name celebrity etc. It's all about wireless, self install now. The cost/benefit of wired setups for the house are no longer what they used to be. Lots of wireless options.
