Browse Forums Window Furnishings 1 Mar 10, 2012 6:30 am Getting close to finish now, and are in the process of ordering blinds, and are looking for suggestions for colours. In the master bedroom, the wall colour is Dulux Grandpiano, with Dulus Whisper White for the ceiling, floor is carpet in Feltex Aspen Ridge in Biscotti. We are getting Luxaflex Luminette for a window/door which is 3.6m wide, in blackout for the vanes, and wonder if we should match the wall colour, go lighter, or go darker. If it's of any consequence, the bed is a dark brown leather covered. In the living area, the walls are Grandpiano half strength, with celling in Grandpiano quarter strength. We are having strand woven bamboo floor in natural, and the blinds will be Luxaflex Silhouette with Bon Soir for the vanes. Again should we match the wall, go lighter or darker. There is a total of 10m of blinds floor to celling. Actual colour suggestion would also be appreciated; unfortunately the lead time for the Luminette is 6 weeks, so we want to get them started ASAP. I was wondering where is the nearest place i could get some cheap blinds in perth? Re: Suggestions for colour for blinds 3Mar 10, 2012 8:12 pm Hi PHL, I remember watching a TV home show, can't remember which one. But they said buy stuff that "goes with" your stuff, not stuff that "matches". I think they're right. If you get a blind which is the same colour as your walls it may be like going to the pub wearing jeans, a denim shirt and a denim jacket. . . Not good! I had a problem with my bedroom. . . Too brown. . . Brown carpet, brown curtains, brown feature wall. . . I bought some grey net curtains (I hate net curtains, but they're the modern type) to offset the brown a bit. It's improved the room no end! Not that I'd suggest grey blinds for you though. . . Oh no. Re: Suggestions for colour for blinds 4Mar 10, 2012 9:32 pm jodge I had a problem with my bedroom. . . Will have to look into colours that complement the grey... Re: Suggestions for colour for blinds 6Mar 11, 2012 4:25 pm I think pure white is too stark. I think we will go with Blockout "Angel Wings" Luminette to go with the Grandpiano in the master bedroom and Bon Soir "Counting Sheep" Silhouette to go with the half Grandpiano in the living area. If you get a blind which is the same colour as your walls it may be like going to the pub wearing jeans, a denim shirt and a denim jacket. . . Not good!. We're just getting quotes for roller blinds - I want to match the walls as we will only have the blinds down at night for privacy and we will have paintings on the same walls. Also we have tall bookcases, so I don't want more "interest" on the walls. I'm not getting curtains - they take up wall space or window space which stops the sun getting in. (Is $2800 reasonable for custom made and fitted 5 half length blinds and 7 blinds to the floor?) Re: Suggestions for colour for blinds 8Jun 05, 2018 9:34 pm I would like to suggest you light colour blinds if your floor carpet is dark. It will definitely look nice. Felt like it is a bit too much adding both double roller blinds with sheers, but it is not uncommon to do this - it… 3 8736 Hi, Looking to add an ensuite to one of the bedrooms and make it a Master BR.
