We bought a new ottoman for the rumpus and got cushions to match, to say I am disappointed with the quality of the cushions is an understatement. [ img ] The spots don't match up, and to me they just look crappy. Paid $39 a piece from P1ush, I expect better quality than that. Return them? I can just see that when i try to return them they're going to give me this spiel about them being a custom made item, but the cushions in the store look great, nothing like what I got...

Return them if you're not happy and don't believe it's what you paid for.

I had a quick look, thought i'd crack the wrapping and have a proper look when I got home, but then realised that I don't even need to crack it open for a good look, it's all there... Disappointed... Such a shame because the ottoman looks awesome

Could they have some made up for you.
Everything is made at a factory, these are the "custom made" for us... You'd think they would at least line up the spots and make the lines of them not be cut off at the edges...

There is custom made and there is custom made
Pattern matching take more time, skill and fabric, thus adds to the cost. Being able to match on all sides is not always possible, dependant on the size of the pattern repeat and size of product being made.
IMO pattern matching is just one element that makes a higher end product - for instance I would insert the zipper differently to how it is shown in your picture. Whilst you feel $39 is a high price, you can easily pay into the $100s for a cushion cover and insert.

It wouldn't bother me, and as someone said, you can pay SO much more than that for cushions, BUT if they have the same pattern displayed in store that are more pattern matched, I'd go back and argue with them

The problem may lie in that there is nothing "faulty" with the cushions - just in your perception of how they were supposed to look.
I personally wouldn't even notice that the sides don't line up - once they are on a lounge you don't see the two sides at the same time.

I can't make cushions but I know kek would have done a better job than that
Aww, thanks suh.
Honestly? I think they'll be fine. You can't match patterned fabric up perfectly - and as joles and kyton have said, you'll only see one side of them when they're on the couch.

I agree once you have them on the couch no-one will notice. I have also heard that the people that make Plush couches etc are the people that make Fantastic Furniture, please don't quote me on this as I heard it from a friend.
