Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Oct 20, 2018 6:22 am Hi all, new to the forum and seeking some advice/reassurance on the new concrete pool we just had completed a week ago. The first thing is that the pebble that was used had a great deal of softer stone in it and it is leaching out in brown spots all over my pool. I was told by my builder that this will go away over a month so I am reasonably ok with waiting however cannot find any info or reference to this online, so has anyone here heard of this or seen it before? The second and more alarming thing is that our pool is semi out of ground and we have these efflorescent streaked areas on the external shell which are seeping water. A few of them are wet to touch and actually dripping water. This is alarming for obvious reasons as we believe if we can see multiple areas on the small part of the shell that is out of ground then there would be many more leaking areas that we can't see! The pool shell itself was very "rough" and there were crumbly areas, cracks and holes which we noted and pointed out to our builder when it was poured however he didn't seem concerned. My builder has told me not to worry about anything, everything can be fixed and he will inspect later next week however I am the type of person who is going to stress over this all weekend. Anyone got any experience, advice or ideas on this? Thanks! Bottom photo Swimming pools are water tight, not water proof and sometimes they can have honeycombing areas within the concrete and can leak at the beginning of the pools life. The concrete with cure and calcify itself.... I wouldn't worry too much at this stage. Another way to look at it, is if this pool was in the ground, you wouldn't have seen the wet patch... the shell would calcify and you wouldn't think anything of it. Do you have any more photos? Regards Pool Owners Australia DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Hi, I've got a brand new (2nd hand) Bosch Hydropower 16H tankless hot water heater. Since it was installed I have noticed it leaks a lot. I took the cover off and it looks… 0 24356 I am not a brick expert, but rendering would be 1 option, it would be costly to do the entire house though.... 2 6783 |
