UPDATED 14 April 2012

We have decided to take the plunge and up the loan during the build process and get a pool.

Here are some extracts of our drawings. What do you think?

Love the pool. I envisage my pool looking the same just need to get some quotes and decide who to go with. I need to spin mine around but it will look pretty similar.

Love it

Congratulations!! Love the pool, fits in well with the house and backyard. Where is north in respect to your land? Who are you going to use to build your pool?

I have decided to log our progress with our pool. We do it with our homes... and the pool is another major expense...

So what has happened thus far...

We got quotes from key pool builders in Sydney and it came down to two N and BH.

BH won the deal. The pool design is the above drawing with provisions for heating, a creepy crawly type cleaner, pool blanket and fencing and 2 gates.

BH called us to advise we needed a Sydney Water Site Peg Out, through them it was $1200, but we managed to get one done for $350. So all good.

Pool has now been approved and we have been moved onto the construction team.

Once we have some more info I will post pics and progress :-)

Meeting Construction Manager on Tuesday, did date will likely be 2 weeks from that meeting as long as the rain holds off.

927, we are also about to dig our pool, mark out today, dig Thursday, our design is very similar but we have the step design on the back wall, as our back fence is on an angle, our is a bit bigger I think 39000 litres.
We will do fencing ourselves what type of fence due you have?.
Oh and by the way BH is that blue haven? Will be interesting to compare the process, we are going with a small company.

After an interesting few weeks and change of pool supervisor we are back on track.

The pool has been marked out and pegged ready for digging next week! Formwork the same week and concrete on the following monday....

Your whole yard changes perspective once they mark it all out.

On the diagonal we have just under 10m of length to swim.

It looks a lot bigger than I expected which is great.
