What works are you referring to? In my case several delays were related to bricks, and the internal fit out ( stairs, kitchen, tiling etc) Edge39.my-letter-box.com Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) 451Aug 31, 2016 7:08 pm SteveMc I'm so pssssd right now. Weeks have gone by without so much as a roof getting ripped up to fix a leak reported 5 months ago, still not re-tiled over two weeks later!! Argh!!!!! Not to mention a list of about 20 defect items to fix without any sign of effort despite these all being unrelated with everything else. - two mirrors installed crooked / not level - Floor squeaking - Painting fixes - Engineer sign off for overhanging brick work - Hallway skirting /plaster straightening. - upstairs walk in linen door missing - front cladding needed better filing/finishing And... Plenty more where that came from. The kitchen drawers were expected last week, but are at least getting done late this week!! Despite being advised we could expect to go through pci this week, there is no chance now as Rawson and their trades have dropped the ball again. I'm super nervous now as a concil planner dropped in today at our rental to check out the final plan submission by our landlord to redevelop our rental house as a duplex. Fingers crossed my frantic call around today will get them moving and finished before my landlord kicks us out. I've tried to be patient and leave my awesome SS to it, but this is enough. I've snapped, and gone against my gut to trust him to get this done. I really sympathise with you. I have been attempting to have issues ranging from serious to minor and from cosmetic to functional fixed for about 2 months now. I'm not putting anything up here just yet, but believe me once I have most of them resolved a report of my Rawson experience will be posted on this very board and any other similar forum I can find. I am going to call it "My Raw Facts", a play on their Raw Facts claims. I have a friend who is a professional photographer coming this weekend to take some photo's of everything. Photo's I bet Rawson wouldn't be happy to put on their own website, but will show what one really gets. Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) "Intern 452Aug 31, 2016 7:58 pm Aj. I know you've had your fair share, and then some. I think we both need to urge others to seriously think about building in general. Rawson and just about every other builder in the market today are just unregulated to the point of poor performance and quality. Gone are the days of trades that actually wanted to make a name for themselves. These trades now hide behind sub contracts, nameless, unaccountable, and border on absolute incompetence. Edge39.my-letter-box.com Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) "Intern 453Aug 31, 2016 8:36 pm Guys, I hear you both and totally agree. Ive been shielding the naked truth till i get my keys. I was talking to a Tyrrels inspector today as he was doing the final inspection at my place. Side notice Rawson dont get a final inspection and rveryone should really get one close to PCI. He said the issues i have is considered more or less normal in todays climate. There is a massive shortage of trades so the good ones get snapped up by private builders and the project builders have to settle for the rest or not meet timeline. I laughed because my build has been going for 14 months now and there is still a few weeks to go. There are little to zero apprentice brickies. Most current brickies in the project home game arent brickies by trade but more pushed into it. Judging from the quality of my finishes I'd say the same going for just about every trade rawson have. I got hold of the state mgr today for qld and nsw and he said he is pretty disgusted with the building industry at the moment and especially the trades in nsw. I was also thinking to myself, if anyone asked me whether I would recommend building at all, I would say absolutely not! When I look at my situation never mind all the heartache you are everyone else is going through too, my husband and I will be lucky to make it through this, emotionally and health wise I would love to be able to quantify the impact it has had. I wonder what all the stress and emotion has actually done to my body (aside from aging my face 10 years). We shouldn't have to fight for a quality, timely finish. It's just wrong. Steve I really really hope they get their act together soon. I've actually wished at times we built with rawson but after reading a few threads... Maybe the grass isn't greener C U S T O M. Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) "Intern 457Sep 02, 2016 4:27 pm The list is getting whittled away with a positive commitment for pci walk through next week. Lots of little things, including the roof to fix. but I'm more positive about progress on the defect list after the kitchen is now finalised. Turned out to be a good mistake I made only going with two handless drawer rather than the three. Hopefully they keep chipping away at that list and PCI is soon! C U S T O M. C O R A L. Fingers and toes crossed for no more hold ups and no more stuff ups!! Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) 460Sep 04, 2016 9:45 pm That's good news! Reading everyone's threads, I am grateful for being in Canberra. Yes, we pay a premium (BASIX equivalent costs are higher here than in non-bushfire areas in NSW), but it's a smaller build sector and we have a lot of good tradies here. Steve, your kitchen is looking gorgeous. Only a week away from PCI. WOO to the HOO! It's looking fabulous.
