I called SS and he called me back. Sparkies havent installed exterior lights... he said maube a part missing... but i supplied the lights???? No plumbers and he said they would "probably work the weekend". I mentioned that the tiler said he was scheduled to start tomorrow and he said he would still be in... but how can the plumbers walk over wet tiles?? Mentioned no stone yet and he said "maybe held up". I mentioned no toilet etc yet and he said that is all scheduled to arrive again today. Its so many "maybes" i just cant see it all happening. My bet is stone arrives mon or tues plumbers start mon tiler starts tues/wed and that pushes our carpet to the 14th or 15th july. SS did insist i leave the stressing to him, but OMG its so hard when you have a.young family work and school and packing and all the items to sort after handover. Our site is a permanent bog from rain and now the neighbour watering in his new turf running towarda our house. Grrrr. Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - eaves and brick clean 465Jul 02, 2015 1:43 pm Grrrrrr indeed! It's nice to have somebody to sympathise with, but it sucks that you're having the same sort of issues On the positive side, you are a few weeks ahead of me and should be in your lovely new house in less than a month - wow! I hear ya on the stress of life and then add the uncertainty of the build I think the temporary living arrangements are messing with my kids more than we anticipated. #1 son seems very emotional and a bit volatile, #3 son has been super bratty and wetting the bed and #2 son has started to find the attitude that he use to have, which we thought we'd left behind in the old house. I think they all need their own space and to be able to make noise again. And boy do I need MY own space. I know all it will take is a week or two of furious activity for it to be right on track again, but that doesn't help right now! Okay - deep breaths.... next week Finnsmamma. We'll put it out to the universe that next week will by crazy with trades and we'll see a flurry of activity Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - eaves and brick clean 466Jul 02, 2015 1:46 pm Yep to both of you! It's just the slowest, most infuriating process isn't it?! I'd watch 3-4 working days pass with nothing and I'd want to cry (or say some terrible words)! How can they not schedule them in so SOMETHING is happening everyday ?! Building our first dream home in NSW Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - eaves and brick clean 467Jul 02, 2015 1:54 pm Just finished a long build and most people get fad up towards middle to end of build, is almost impossible to not have days or weeks with no action, , rain, ,extras, , mistakes, sickies etc , but after you all move in you will be very happy in your lovely new homes, the past will seem a distant blimp, hang on ; as yes less space means less relaxation for a family; but happiness is almost apon you. Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - eaves and brick clean 468Jul 02, 2015 3:12 pm Oh no that's not good to hear hubby and I were talking yesterday saying maybe they should hire ss who have studied admin lol I'm sure the organizational and keeping up to date skills are what's missing. My build viewtopic.php?t=76386 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - eaves and brick clean 469Jul 03, 2015 6:00 pm Progress today! Internal doors are up and door and window frames have been started. I spoke to the carpenter and he was really nice and walked me through a few issues. They have delivered the wrong doors for the linen/broom cupboard in the laundry and our cavity slider door hasn't arrived yet. He also talked to me about what we were after in the pantry since we're putting a freezer in there. Really nice and helpful He says he'll be there for two more days doing shelving and skirting. I still havr no down pipes lol. Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - doors! 475Jul 05, 2015 4:56 pm I love our house and can't wait to be in it. I don't think it's going to feel real for a while after we move in. My eldest asked why we didn't just extend our old house and I went through a list of everything that was wrong with our last house. It was a LONG list - we definitely made the right decision, but every now and then it hits me that we KNOCKED DOWN OUR HOUSE! Seriously - who does that! We lived in it for nearly 11 years and then tore it down. As I said, it just hits me every now and then Anyway the downpipes (they will be painted so they don't stand out quite so much): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - doors! 476Jul 06, 2015 3:59 pm I just got an email and we have a new SS! The last one only lasted two weeks and neither of us actually ever met him, although my husband spoke to him once on the phone and he didn't leave a good impression... The new one is the same SS Julie had if any of you remember her. I'm hoping we have a similar, great experience to what she had. Technically, he's not even an SS, he's the construction manager who is acting SS in the interim until the new one starts on the 13th. Apparently ours no longer works for Coral at all. Methinks Coral has some serious problems internally... Re: KDR:Coral Daydream 28:SW Sydney - doors! 478Jul 08, 2015 12:33 pm Mellywil I love our house and can't wait to be in it.
