Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Aveling Build NOR - Roof Frame 61Nov 14, 2014 7:44 pm Hi I had an independant building inspector go and check it all yesterday. He picked up a few problems with the roof frame and other bits and pieces. Although he did say that the beam is acceptable!. Report was sent to Aveling this morning for review. Hopefully they'll do the modifications soon because as it stands it doesn't meet Australian Standards and Building Code. However, there was nothing too major and most things should be easily fixed. I'd definitely recommend getting an inspection done. I feel less stressed about it haha Re: Aveling Build NOR - Roof Frame 62Nov 14, 2014 9:37 pm That's good news about the beam and it's ok. To be honest since I saw your picture I have noticed similar beams on other builds on this forum and glad it's all within regulations. Are you getting the same inspector to do other stages of your build? Could you pls pm me his details/price. Thanks. I hope Aveling get things sorted quickly for you. Re: Aveling Build NOR - Roof Frame 63Nov 14, 2014 9:48 pm Sent you a PM I'll probably get another inspection done at PCI by the same people. Re: Aveling Build NOR - Roof Frame 67Nov 22, 2014 6:49 pm It's going to be Paperbark, with a white corbel and face brick at the bottom Re: Aveling Build NOR - Roof Frame 69Nov 22, 2014 7:23 pm Tiles look lovely. Your colour scheme sounds amazing. My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Aveling Build NOR - Roof Frame 70Nov 22, 2014 7:33 pm Thanks guys. I hope it'll look ok. I had many sleepless nights worrying about render colours haha Re: Aveling Build NOR - Roof Tiles 71Nov 27, 2014 11:39 am Hi Vines. We used your building inspector and they were fantastic. He picked up a lot of problems with the roof and I was wondering how quickly Aveling resolved your issues? You can pm me if you like. Re: Aveling Build NOR - Roof Tiles 72Nov 27, 2014 2:25 pm Not sure if they have been resolved yet. They told me they would be fixed before handover so I'll get the inspector to heck again at the end of the build. Re: Aveling Build NOR - Render 74Nov 29, 2014 7:12 pm And we've got a wasp's nest...

Job for the fella when he gets home Re: Aveling Build NOR - Render 77Dec 10, 2014 9:37 am Hey Going ok. Internal grey float is done, ceilings are in and a guy was there Saturday afternoon cutting the cornices! How's yours going? Re: Aveling Build NOR - Render 78Dec 10, 2014 10:57 am That's great Vines. Looks like you're moving along nicely. We're waiting for roof tiles to go on and still have issues with our living room bulkhead. Scott (SS) seems great but can't say same for admin staff. Have you been given date for lock out? Re: Aveling Build NOR - Render 79Dec 10, 2014 9:08 pm Got an email this morning, they are going to try for lock up before xmas but it might be after because the carpenter is fully booked apparently. Sucks about your bulkhead. It should be how you want it, or else what was the point of including it in the plan if they are just going to build what they feel like. Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17588 Thanks mate. Yeah good points!
