Was looking at the photo I took of my lovely new walls and realised OMG where's the toilet window?? :O so I rushed out to the block to find the brickies had fixed their error and the window had been put in place before I even had a chance to say anything! Phew!! Building our first home - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73568 Re: Amelia & Nathan's First Home with HGWA... We have walls! 33Oct 23, 2014 10:53 pm Ok... soooo I have been a little slack on here the last few days, so here's the update. The brickies are still going strong. I would say about halfway through! We also had our onsite brick meeting the other day with the site supervisor. Wasn't particularly interesting but he did point out a few little chipped bricks he wanted to replace (we didn't even notice them!!). He also enlightened me to the fact that we are getting dry wall instead of plaster on the walls... to be honest I don't really care too much either way but wanted to get opinions as to what peoples preference is over plaster / dry wall? I've only ever lived in plastered homes so have no idea whether dry wall is any good!! He seemed to think it was a better product but of course he would say that So anyway... wanna see some bricks? (somewhere to store my shoe addiction!) We're having a 'Wall's Up Party' on Saturday, just a few drinks to celebrate the build happening. We missed the 'Pad Party' because of my OH being in hospital so we thought, why not?! P.S. My OH is doing very well!! Still a cripple but very much recovering Building our first home - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73568 Re: Amelia & Nathan's First Home with HGWA 34Oct 24, 2014 12:13 am Looking good Meelz! We have dry wall, and from what I gather as long as your brickwork is spick it goes up pretty well. Great for double brick houses coz they reckon it doesn't crack like plaster. Glad to hear your fella is doing well. Enjoy your party! Re: Amelia & Nathan's First Home with HGWA 35Oct 27, 2014 9:47 am Love your pictures Meelz! Your brickies are super clean, our site looks like a bomb has hit it! It must be great to see what the front of your house will look like! Not long now now until roof timbers will be delivered!
