I never considered that the white may discolour. i do LOVE white kitchens, but only if they are nicely detailed like: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ i just fear that if i chose the white it would look SO cheap because its all just plain smooth cupboards - no nice edging or glass. I also fear that the white bench top would blend too much too.. I would LOVE to see photos to prove me wrong??? Anyone?? Re: Kitchen Meltdown!!!!! HELP 4Oct 24, 2014 8:31 am We've got stock standard flat polar white on our overheads - they don't look too bad, but they certainly won't get featured in any magazines. I wouldn't want a whole kitchen of them though and am glad we chose something else for the base cupboards (we went with pearl grey, which might be similar to the grey you are looking at, and we went a darker warm grey benchtop - moose) But we don't really have a magazine worthy fancy house anyway, its full of kids and noise and stuff so I'm not too concerned. I'll post up some pics for you once we finish off the floors and get a fridge etc in there (hopefully moving this weekend or early next week.) There was a thread in here a little while back of more standard laminate kitchens I think too, which might help you visualise it. And I forgot to add that we were so strapped we didn't even get a waterfall edge on the island, I think I might be banished from modernity for that crime against kitchens! Re: Kitchen Meltdown!!!!! I've seen so many waterfall edges in kitchens over the last five years that I think they are becoming cliched. You are a trendsetter ! Stewie Re: Kitchen Meltdown!!!!! Thanks so much for your reply! My kitchen wont be in any magazines either, ha ha. I think im getting a little overwhelmed. As long as it functions, its neat and looks okay i should be grateful I would LOVE to see your photos when your kitchen is done, that would be fantastic. We wont have a waterfall bench either, unless its a standard inclusion which i highly doubt. Oh well, lol, i can live without it! Re: Kitchen Meltdown!!!!! Stewie I think ill form part of the 'non waterfall' kitchen alliance lol shame on me Re: Kitchen Meltdown!!!!! HELP 8Oct 26, 2014 4:42 pm Hey how's it going. I am a cabinetmaker and have recently started taking on my own jobs in the hopes to have my own business some day . If you would like to discuss some ideas you may have or want me to come out and have a look and throw some ideas around I am willing to do that. I also have access to a stone manufacturer if you wanted to see if I can get it any cheaper including the waterfall ends. Let me know if you're interested and I will send through my emails address. Thanks James Re: Kitchen Meltdown!!!!! HELP 9Oct 30, 2014 12:33 pm KingEpiphany1 Hey how's it going. Everyone has mitre join and I wanted something with a bit more character. We decided to go all white cupboards and white shimmer bench but have broken it up with black appliances and a black Rangehood. It isn't installed yet or would of posted pictures. Re: Kitchen Meltdown!!!!! HELP 12Nov 12, 2014 11:45 am We wanted (ok it was me) a shaker style kitchen too. But it was too much money to spend. So I've compromised and went with white overhead cupboard doors and planning on putting extra moulding bits and then painting it white for the shaker style effect. I actually don't think it will be hard as shaker style is meant to be a simple style and painted. here's are a couple of posts that may inspire you: http://littlegreennotebook.blogspot.com.au/2012/10/diy-shaker-style-cabinet-doors.html and http://beautifullycontained.blogspot.com.au/2013/04/kitchen-update-how-to-convert-flat.html Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Kitchen Meltdown!!!!! HELP 13Dec 02, 2014 8:34 pm Hi, I do like that grey colour too. What is the colour name? You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn. The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 15600 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6631 2 4680 |
