Browse Forums Building A New House Re: {dawn} Build in S.E Melbourne - CANT WAIT ANY LONGER 305Sep 03, 2015 11:36 am *feeling better* So, silly me finally just picked up the phone and rang my builder and I'm feeling much better! He got my email, he's confident everything can be accomplished before my land settles, and he is going to give me a quote for the front fence. He's going to get back to me by the end of next week with all the details I need. That's all I need.. was some sort of confirmation that something is happening. I might go check out the estate this weekend to see how things are progressing. Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Waiting *** 306Sep 05, 2015 9:58 pm Decided to get a visualization done by New Visuals I figure it will help me get a feel for the front of the house to work out the landscape and front fence.. plus its fun!!! Will post it once its all done. Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Waiting *** 307Sep 06, 2015 8:38 am Dawn, just saw your post about not doing activities in your area because you know you'll move soon. Why don't you start looking at some things you can do in Pakenham? Not a regular thing (like a weekly club), more like day trips every now and then when you have time to things out this way... Shopping at the big shopping centre near the estate, a walk around the lake in lakeside, coffee with a friend at Vanille, laser tag at kemizo (let us know if you're up for that, we'll come along!), or a movie at fountain gate. Not only would the occasional Pakenham outing get you enjoying your soon to be neighbourhood, it's also a way to keep feeling excited about your move while things stand still with the titles/build. Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Waiting Pla 308Sep 06, 2015 9:16 am Those are great ideas! I really don't know the area too well. I've visited the shopping center once with my aunt, we had a coffee. And I go to Fountain Gate all the time, so I know it pretty well.. but otherwise I don't know the area much at all. I did start going to the Berwick markets They are awesome. I guess I also want to save somethings for when I move in.. like going to the library and stuff.. but it wouldn't hurt to do some day trips. I need to check out what there is to do down there, I like outside stuff more, hiking, nature walks.. anything to do with animals.. My uncle and I are headed off on a walk through a national park today, we might swing past the estate on the way back for a look see. Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Waiting Pla 309Sep 06, 2015 3:24 pm I saw the estate! Omg.. houses Looks like only one second storey house is being built.. omg the houses look so tiny in real life! And that corner house has colorbond!! I'm sure that you couldn't have colorbond, I'm going to go read the guidelines again because I really wanted colorbond. My road exists *excited* Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Waiting Pla 310Sep 06, 2015 7:01 pm Thanks to Dan at New Visuals, I can now see my beautiful new house!!
Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I love the colors I've picked. Its exactly what I wanted, with the light greys and blues. I think in real life my brick will be a bit brighter, but overall I think the colors flow well and I'm happy with my choices. I was hoping the white garage door would balance out the light render on the other side of the house (though a wood colour would have been awesome too!) and will also keep the garage a bit cooler. I would have preferred a lighter roof colour but this was the lightest colour my builder offered in roof tiles. I was also a little worried about the window frames, thought they may be too light and blend into the render, but I think they will work! Any suggestions or comments? I'm wondering if the pillars should be a lighter colour? They seem to blend a little too much into the roof. Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Elevations 311Sep 06, 2015 11:06 pm Hi Dawn Love your outdoor colour choices. I think the roof colour is a good choice. I m not sure if we have the same guidelines but mine says slim line or flat roof tiles with either grey or charcoal colour. Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Elevations 312Sep 07, 2015 6:46 pm I checked the guidelines and there does seem to be something that might be a colorbond roof, but it's a bit confusing. I'm not going to change at this late stage. Plus colorbond tends to cost more.. next house I'll do that! Thanks I like them more everytime I see them. Money well spent I think, I'm going to send the image to my builder too so he can enjoy! Plus might help to use it to submit to the developer. Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Elevations 313Sep 07, 2015 7:04 pm I love the colours!! I think the pillar colour is nice.. I don't think it blends too much, it's a ice feature ️, if you wanted another option maybe a darker grey/beige, darker than the render.. That would go nice with the bricks too.. Either way it looks great Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Elevations 314Sep 07, 2015 8:22 pm Thanks D Yeah, I've decided its not so bad the way it is. In real life there will be more textures as well, so won't look as matchy matchy. I've asked if my fence can be added to the picture, so I can see how it will look. Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Elevations 315Sep 08, 2015 5:30 pm How amazing is the below picture? I'm super stoked!!
I think I'm on the right track with the fence, seems to suit the house and breaks it up a bit. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Do you think the grey pebble (light render) colour works for the posts or do you think drive time (dark render) would suit better? Right now I think I like the light colour, seems to pull all the various shades together. Also, the slats come in a number of colorbond and timberlook colors: http://www.stratco.com.au/products/home-improvement/ezislat-fencing/ I like the timber look, but given there is no other wood on my house I do wonder if I should try a different colour. What do you think? Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Elevations 316Sep 08, 2015 7:31 pm Hi Dawn Light colour pillars look good with the brown fence or darker pillars with lighter fence. Check out the aluminum slats at www.aliscreens.com.au Are you installing automatic gate? Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Elevations 318Sep 08, 2015 8:03 pm As much as I want an automatic gate I don't think I can afford it. Might have to be a future purchase.. for now a swing gate might have to do!! Oh, another product. Good to know there are other brands out there. Have you made any more house decisions? Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Elevations 319Sep 08, 2015 9:40 pm Not finalized yet as the studio was just renovated. I will need to make a trip to the city on Sunday again. Some prices increased for upgrades. Not sure if we are affected. Have to find out from burbank. At the moment we are not please with basic inclusions and all the upgrades cost so much. I think that is all the trick for all builders. Re: {dawn} 3 bdr Custom Build in S.E Melbourne - Elevations 320Sep 08, 2015 10:13 pm We are planning on building at Officer and have our colour appointment at Burbank next week. I will be a lot more excited once the land actually titles. Originally it was October 2015 but currently pushed back to December. I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34277 6 55355 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27749 |
