We are currently trying to select external colours for our new home. We are building a double fronted weatherboard home with a colorbond roof. The colours we have chosen so far are:

Roof: Ironstone
weatherbaords: Taubmans Foxdale
Door and Window Architraves: Taubmans Cradle White
Verandah Posts; Taubmans Cradle white
Balustrade: Taubmans Cradle white
Gutter: Ironstone
Fascia: surfmist
Downpipe colour: Ironstone
Front Door: Ironstone

Our Dilemma lies with the garage door, we are having a sectional panel lift garage door and I am not sure whether to go with Surfmist or Ironstone ?????

Also we are having a front picket fence and I don't know which colour to do this in, Foxdale or Cradle white to match the bausltrade?

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!!!

this is our facade,the garage is set back 500mm from the front, the only change is we are now having balustrades between the posts on the verandah.

Ironstone is a very heavy colour compared to the other 2 you are having and the style of your home.
I think this time my suggestion would be to have the Surfmist garage door.

We are also considering Taubmans Grey Comfort for the weatherboards, would this be a better colour to go with the Ironstone ?

I am thinking we will do the front picket fence in the main house colour and then the letterbox in ironstone to tie it all together ?

Foxdale is a better match for Ironstone than grey comfort. I also second michelle's view on ironstone being a heavy colour.

We are definately leaning more towards Grey confort now as the main colour.

Thank goodness I have all the internals sorted, the externals are doing my head in

Grey will look lovely, and darker will show less dirt

Thanks again for your help D@n and Michelle ! We ended up choosing a Windspray roof,Surfmist Fascia & Garage door, Foxdale for the boards and a Taubmans soft white for the architraves, balustrade and trim.

The render hasn't ben painted yet and the verandah and balustrade is still to be erected but we love the colours so far !!!
