Okay ... so house is built and we're in ... we've been in over a month actually so I thought it was about time I posted some pics on here as I've loved looking at what everyone else is doing in their homes. I've been told that "procrastination" is my middle name but I really think it should be my first
I wanted to wait until it was complete but at the rate we're going that could be another year ... mind you, when is a home ever really finished??? Some things I'm happy with ... some I'm not ... so I thought I would just put it all on this thread and with everyone's help I'll be finished in no time right?!?! ... well, depending on budget ...
One tip I've found is that if you take a photo of a room or an area it can help you get a better idea of the look you're after ... in a photo you seem to be able to see more clearly what stands out as being in the wrong place, or wrong colour or what spaces need to be filled or emptied. Hope that makes sense.
Right, I'm about to sort my photos out ... be right back!!!

BWAHAHAHAHA ... there will be NO puckering up ... ... thankfully DD is not into that ... YET ... hates make-up and will only wear her hair in a pony tail as she "can't be bothered" doing anything else with it
Our lounge room ... not sure where the canvas is going just yet , either in here or the study ... lots to be done in here ... coffee table?...lamps?...plants?...definitely more photos. Oh yeah ... curtains would be nice to! [ img ] Canvas might go on this wall BUT probably putting a photo wall here as I've been wanting to do one for ages ... [ img ] Don't know what to do here??? Photo?...picture?...shelves?...maybe a lamp? [ img ]

What about using the angled wall for your photo wall?
Re: The puckering up...our youngest DD wasn't interested in boys at 14 either-too busy with sport amd couldn't understand why the boys were interested in anything else! But then one day (about 12months ago...) I noticed that there were pucker marks on her mirror when I went to clean it! Geez, her Dad & I had some fun with that I can tell you!
Are you going to put the wall decal (love the quote) above DD's desk or the bedhead? I'm thinking a picture of some sort would be good also - but I really have no idea as my DD is 3!!!
In the lounge - maybe another side table in between the 2 seater and chairs, instead of taking up space with a coffee table? Love the picture - yep chuck it on the wall for some colour! Dee's idea of the angeld wall for the photos is a good one
Hmmm gee it's hard isn't it!!! Ok I don't really know - but at least tried

Yes it is hard but thanks so much for helping! I'm thinking of putting the decal above her desk and maybe a print above the bed. I also have DD3 (nearly 4) to get to yet

I've had this in my favourites for nearly two years so this will probably go on the big wall ... I love it! Won't be as big though ... I have 16 frames (2 boxes of boxed frames from Target - black and white) so far ... [ img ]
Also love this look ... maybe in the entry??? [ img ]

This is the kid's tv room ... which is right across from our lounge room so thinking of putting some sort of partition up for now ... maybe a wall or sliding doors or something in the future.
I'm thinking rug - definitely a rug ... cushions ... prints/photos ... new tv is on its way ... teddy won't be staying in there. Also thinking of putting the chaise on the other side of the lounge and having some type of storage shelves under the window??? [ img ]
and keep the dvd's/playstation games/wii games/books/toys etc in there - as well as other kid stuff. Will give some privacy to you (and them!) I'm pretty sure you can get some with backs on the squares so smaller stuff doesn't fall through. Could also put the backs onto the kids side, so you could store stuff that you want to look at from your lounge. Hmmm had a long day - don't know if tht makes sense.

Some boringness ... I want a new vase for my lucky bamboo which is very, very lucky ... to still be here!!! Have had it for nearly 3 years now which is a record for me ! So maybe a nice black or red one? [ img ] Ensuite ... don't like stuff on the vanity so bought this ... fits perfectly in that space ... [ img ] Kid's shower ... this little thing is great, hasn't fallen off yet ... 10yr old and 3yr old can reach everything now ... maybe not so great with a 3 yr old [ img ] Towel rack only holds TWO towels so with THREE kids we needed this ... perfect for DD14 ... [ img ] This I love ... originally it was bought for a caravan (that was never bought ) so DH put it here ... it's soooooo handy ... even the kids can use it ... yeah right [ img ] [ img ]

[quote="Pebbles"] It's looking great pebbles, love the photo wall idea. I also love the shelf unit you have in your ensuite, it just what I have been looking for. Can I ask where you purchased it from? [ img ]

Hahahaha I KNOW!!! We often say he has the best seat in the house ... the sun hits that side of the house first thing in the morning so it's very nice!

OMG bel that is absolutely perfecto! That's exactly what I had in my head but was too lazy to look for one . If I don't use it as a divider I may get the one that's smaller and put it under the window and use some type of screening instead

Hi fairyblue ... I originally found it in a Howards Storage World catalogue for $155 BUT bought my one from good old K-Mart for $69 It's exactly the same ... right down to the little handles on the drawers ... very easy to put together!
When DH slid it into place he was amazed that it fit so perfectly. I said to him "I used a measuring tape honey ... you should try it sometime, it actually works" ......... He wasn't
Ok I would like to know where you got the retractable clothes line from! We have to have a fixed line in the laundry to comply with our Basix requirements (Environmental stuff in NSW) and that would be perfect!
Oh and you can get smaller ikea "cubes" that go on their side and are lower

Thanks pebbles, $69 is a good price, sure beats the $155 from HSW.

Hi Erin ... I love it too!!! Unfortunately I can't remember where it came from , it's been in my favourites for nearly two years ... have been trying to figure out how to make one A friend did something similar using a curtain rod and just hanging frames off ribbon ... could try that maybe??

Ummmmmmm I don't know I'm pretty sure DH got it from one of the camping stores ... it's really handy though, I usually only use my dryer for small items and only if absolutely necessary ... now I don't have too
