Post subject: | Change of render colour - please HELP! |
Hi Michelle, Just stumble through and saw your blog advising external wall colours. We are in the process of changing render colour, I desperately need some help from you as we are too scare to choose the wrong colour again!!! Here are our existing colours: Externals Roof - Black Terracotta (shingle profile roof tiles) Gutters - Dulux Mountain Blue Fascia - Dulux Mountain Blue Downpipes - Dulux Miller Mood Posts - White Birch Masonry Walls - Dulux Miller Mood Windows - White Birch Doors - White Birch Garage Door - Mountain Blue We originally wanted the walls in a grey colour with a slight touch of blue in it, but ended up really light blue! Can you please suggest or give us your expert opinion of an alternative nutral colour, as we are thinking of repainting the rendered walls only and not changing any thing else. |

Thanks for your suggestion Michelle. My house is a double storey house and it's fully rendered. I'm just thinking wether Wild Dove is too dark for it? I will post you a photo of my house when I get home. (I'm at work now! ) |

You have to remember when it's in the light it won't be that dark. I read somewhere when choosing exterior render colours to go 2 shades darker, the sunlight sucks the colour out. |

You might be right Suh. I remember reading someone else's blog and Michelle suggested Dulux Grainger. What do you think that will come out Michelle? |

Truong….get a sample pot and paint it up on the the front of the house to the side so its in full sun. Use the whole pot and make sure you get 2 coats on so you see the true colour. Get another photo for me after you have done that. |
