Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and seeking opinion to furniture colours (in terms of wood colours) which would suit blackbutt flooring. I currently have a mix of all wood colours which I want to get rid of as none of them really go. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi Alanna,

If you want similar colours as the floor timbers like Tasmanian Oak would work fairly well. Really, any light toned furniture will blend in. Most furniture stores won't know what the timber is anyway, so I guess you could take a sample of your floor into stores.

That said, I quite like using dark timber against light timber floors to get some contrast. In a display home that had light honey coloured floors, all the timber furniture I used was a rich brown (although each piece was different, they were all a similar tone).

It's just personal preference really! :)
