Hubby did a wall in our girls play room at our old house. Not sure if he will do anything in the new house though. It was all done freehand and lucky me got to spend weeks painting it, was very happy with how it turned out. [ img ]

Can anyone tell me where to buy the gloss varnish spray for acrylic paintings in Adelaide? Nobody seems to know what I'm talking about when I ask for it ... I'm currently working on a painting and when the dark brown paint is wet it looks like chocolate icing but goes dull when dry so I want to spray it so it stays shiny ... thanks for your help!

you can go to Bunnings or Spotlight or any art shop but I'm not sure you will get in the spray form. It usually comes in liquid form and you do apply it with a brush.
I would probably go for the semi gloss instead of the full gloss. When applied it looks a bit milky but will dry clear an shiny.

no worries - I bought Jo Jansen on semi gloss and you will have enough for quite a few paintings. Did one coat and let it dry for a few hours (check label to confirm) then second coat.

Not as professional as some of the works here, but I had a go at turning some pics of my little girls into colourful pop-art type images, and plan to get them put on to some canvas squares for in the hall near their bedrooms? What do you think, are they good enough to display or a bit too amature-ish??

Its done on photoshop. A decent pic and a couple of hours work is all it takes. I enjoy playing with photoshop - its a good way for me to come up with some 'art' in the absence of any real artistic talent
Clueless - You've got talent - I bet I couldn't do it!! I like it - will look great on a canvas - so colourful!

Some art I did last week. This one is going in our theatre room, with the dark colour going to be the colour of our walls. [ img ] [ img ] Think I will hang it the first way!
This is going to go in our daughters room. she wants a yellow and pink room, she chose these colours when we went to the paint store...matched the colours herself! [ img ] I am going to do a 3rd one and hang them. I originally just did stripes to see how easy it was and what it would look like on the wall...now I have decided to just paint the walls the pink, and put the three up next to each up!
My very first bit of art!
