Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 20, 2008 8:38 pm Hi Michelle
Hoping you or somone can help me with my facade. I am getting it covered all over in Moroka and hoping to use the following Taubmans colours. My question is can I use dark colours in Moroka? I have visited the kellymoroka website and it says only light colours but I've heard otherwise on this site and taubmans don't have a colour chart on their site so I'm a little confused Main Colour - Canyon Black (dark grey with a hint of blue) Pylons, Patio Roof, Garage roof "eave" - Rock Quarry Tall Plinth - Princess Bling Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I need to have the choices made before my colour appointment so I want to be prepared! Re: Colours for my facade - update 24/11/08 2Nov 20, 2008 8:58 pm We're having Taubmans 'Manhattan' on our moroka balconies - a dark colour. Our builder hasn't voiced any objections yet, though when I rang Taubmans, they told me exactly what Kellymoroka told you !
Will wait & see what happens. Re: Colours for my facade - update 24/11/08 3Nov 21, 2008 7:16 am Thanks Southies! Please let me know how it goes. I'm very interested. Re: Colours for my facade - update 24/11/08 4Nov 21, 2008 10:51 am Hi buildingadreamhome….I have the Taubmans Moroka brochure here, and there are some dark colours in the brochure.
Not quite as dark as what you have up, very nice by the way, on the last page of the brochure there is a two story house with a VERY dark purple on the feature of the front. So I think you should be ok, I would check with your builder though. I don't suppose you could tell me the names of the darker colours so I can check them out at Bunnings? Do you have that brochure in soft copy? I'd love to see it. Thank you Re: Colours for my facade - update 24/11/08 6Nov 21, 2008 11:37 am buildingadreamhome Thanks Michelle! I'll have to give them a buzz on Monday then! They did ask if I'd tried my local Taubmans store. But I said that we'd only just moved into the area & didn't know there was one . Well it's technically true - they don't need to know that we moved here 7 months ago Re: Colours for my facade - update 24/11/08 12Nov 21, 2008 5:34 pm Do you think the Taubmans store will have a Moroka brochure then? There might be one near me..... Re: Colours for my facade - update 24/11/08 13Nov 21, 2008 5:39 pm Looked up the website. Just retailers but no Taubmans shop.... guess I'll be ordering the catalogue..... I am so impatient it's not funny!!! Re: Colours for my facade - update 24/11/08 14Nov 21, 2008 5:42 pm Southies Michelle, I thought Taubmans stopped this service ? Maybe my NICE email I sent them made them think twice! I’ll check it out later, and see for myself. Re: Colours for my facade - update 24/11/08 16Nov 21, 2008 7:15 pm buildingadreamhome Hey Michelle I don't suppose you could tell me the names of the dark greys or blues on that Moroka colour sheet? You are impatient aren't you buildingadreamhome? Actually, I would be too Re: Colours for my facade - update 24/11/08 17Nov 21, 2008 7:20 pm Hey BADH, don't know much about your moroka, but I just wanted to say congratulations on paying your deposit!! Sounds like tender #2 was better than the first builder then?
When do you start building? Re: Colours for my facade - update 24/11/08 18Nov 21, 2008 7:46 pm Southies - yes I totally am!!! I guess we love love love our colour choices and want to know whether we can have them or not and if not what's our next best option
Donuts - thank you! Yes our tender came in just under our budget and the service was fantastic. We are just having our plans drawn up at the moment and need to pick our external colours before we get them back. I am estimating with Masterton and Council closing over Xmas and our council always taking around 3 months for DA's we should be hopefully knocking down in June. Fingers crossed! Re: Colours for my facade - update 24/11/08 19Nov 23, 2008 5:56 am My thoughts on this Moroka stuff is,
It’s a product, of many different types of textures. As for the colour, I might be wrong, but I think you add your own colour and paint to it, any colour???! It’s a base product, I suggest you ring that tech number and get as much info on it. Let me know what they say, I have to start packing soon, so I don’t have time to do it myself. Good luck! I'll give them a buzz tomorrow. I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 35068 Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 8583 Agree, Riviera from Clarendon looks beautiful. I've seen one with a light-colored bricks and just a bit of molding (in my neighborhood). It's definitely overpriced.
