Hi Michelle or Anyone,

I'm hoping you can help with picking our external house colour? We have just rendered our house and wish to leave the roof as is, we think its Headland colorbond. The Gutters & Fascias will be in Woodland Grey and the Eaves will be in Surfmist.

We'd like to get a creamy brown / latte colour. We've tried Dulux Tavern, but it came up pretty dark, so not sure if we should go half strength? We're thinking of having the garage doors also in Woodland Grey and the facade around the garage in a darker colour then the main?? I'm just not sure we're on the right path and if all of this will tie in?

Can you please help and give us some suggestions.

Thank you heaps.
JP

Because the garage part is so big, I think it would look odd if it was a different colour. I would keep it all the same. Go with a warm colour for the render and maybe a timber colour for the garage door. I would also change the front fence to something more solid looking that stands out. Do you have 2 driveways?

Hi d@n,

Thank you for your reply :D . I like your idea to go with a timber look for the garage as it would tie in with our front door. Yes, we do have 2 driveways. The one on the left leads to a carport down the side of the house. We've thought of changing the fence, but not sure what to do across the two driveways? We'd like to keep both. What would you suggest?

Thanks again for your help.
JP

Nothing wrong with 2 driveways (if you want them). Without gates should be fine also but I guess that depends on your area.

How about Dulux Natural Stone.
Remember all colours wash out 2 shades lighter in the sun. :D

or Dulux Light Glaze

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for posting. I've tried the Dulux Tavern at 1/2 strength and my painter has been really quick in getting half the house done, but I'm worried about the colour combination of the red roof, woodland grey gutters & tavern walls. Do you think this will look ok, or should I just paint the roof woodland grey as well? What colour would you do on the garage doors as the wood look doors are heaps more expensive, extra $800 each.

Is the Dulux Natural Stone & Light Glaze in the same family as Tavern?

Thanks again.

No they are not in the same family, next to each other. Tavern has more yellow in it.

I like the terracotta roof with the Tavern paint, looks nice to me.
Boy your husband paints fast! ::

I have to say, I don't mind the paint selections. :D
I'd try Surfmist for the garage doors?
