The steel windows and doors are glazed. The cedar dividing wall was installed today. I'll most likely bleach/stain or paint it white. The bench is now ready for a stone top. I haven't decided on what to use yet. Any suggestions? Between that and the cedar it's an insane little area! Wow!! You a marble fan? I could see a marble stonetop there fitting in perfectly C U S T O M. C O R A L. Day bed might be a good option, you can extend the width of the bed with a few cedar posts? This little area is one of my favourite aspects of our house. - once it's done Marble would be great. Issue is that our steel fabricator made a small error in his measurements and I'm only left with 18mm between the bricks and the bottom of the bifolds. Hence I can't use 20mm stone. I have to try find a solution that is less than 15mm think. I know acrylic will work but I'm not really a fan...... still investigating options. Re: OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 414Oct 28, 2016 6:17 pm Some benchtop updates. We've had some of our stone installed today. Slightly frustrating day as several pieces were measured incorrectly so more waiting but I thought I'd put up some pics. This is our little "study" area. They come in slabs of 3x1.5m and are 6mm thick so require a substrate. They are much more realistic in my opinion than engineered stones and come in a really nice honed finish. I think I'm also going to use it on our courtyard day bed. I would be over the moon how well it's all looking I've been happy with most of the choices we have made but there are always going to be regrets. I tend to try to forget them by reminding myself that the kids will probably trash it all soon anyway. . Just checked out your site. Looks like you've got the utilities happening. We decided to use a replica mid century style oak buffet table and ordered a peice of marble as the top. I had the edges beveled.
