Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1078Mar 04, 2015 8:24 pm LaurenDrew hi Gohmsen, just wanted to offer some words of comfort re: the text message and your dismay of seeing the work wasn't finished to the stage you were expecting... We found this happened with us too (also built with MJH) and discovered that these messages are automated. Sometimes it means the order for the next stage has gone through - they have to "tick off" that one part has been completed so the next part can keep moving forward. Unfortunately, it means we sometimes get disappointed because the message is a little inaccurate with the timing. It is a good thing though, as it means that you aren't losing time between stages. Hang in there! Re the extra cost to change the height of the kitchen... Sheesh! This is it though - they don't want you to make changes after everything has started. We didn't add any extra height to our benchtops (apart from getting the 40 mm stone tops with the upgrade) and our height is pretty well perfect - I was a little concerned we would lose height as we had tiling done ourselves after handover, but it's all ended up completely fine. And this is coming from someone who has always had extra high benchtops in previous houses (father is a builder - apparently it's a "thing" that they like the extra height!). I'm sure you'll find yours will be ok. Fingers and toes crossed for you! Thanks for that . Yes I am a joiner and I know what thing cost like that. I'm doing a new kitchen after handover as to upgrade it was more that I can make a new one in polyurethane for. So I'm doing 60mm stone as well . I'm keeping the mirrored splash back thought so I'm just try to get that installed a bit higher . Did you end up doing it? Postal Service Vermont Estate at Pitt Town 1080Jul 30, 2015 9:15 am Anyone heard any news regarding the postal service in Vermont? The Estate is almost full and we still have our temp letter boxes out front making the streets look average. O_Jay Here is the update: - Called PO - "Nothing to do with us, mail is delivered by Aus Post Contractor, contact Aus Post. Developer should have told you" - Called Vermont - "Oh, we only just found out about this recently" [Oh please!!!] "We will look into it and getting something into our design guidelines" [Not going to help me is it] - Called Aus Post - "We have lodged your complaint with the delivery centre, someone from our back office team will call you back in 1-2 weeks with an update" [Waiting for "too bad we aren't changing anything until maybe the whole estate is finished" call] I will be joining you all with my cheap Bunnings letter box this evening Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24824 As title suggests, looking at using the interlocking Pentablock stacked stone products to replace failing timber retaining… 0 17866 |
