I feel your pain, mistakes have delayed our stacker doors and correct Windows being completed too My Metricon Glendale in Sydney. Re: Metricon Glendale 41 Our Journey 248Aug 27, 2016 12:34 pm So yesterday arvo i did my own walk through, basically i went over the entire house and wrote out a list of everything that needs to be repaired this took 4 hours, 9 pages of things that need to be repaired. Everything on my list is cosmetic ie painting 3 different colours of silicon used in the bathrooms, probably the biggest issue is the staining of my internal doors, front door, stairs, hand rails they arent the same colour and the timber hasnt been sanded correctly, all the skirting has been painted the right colour but the painters havent cleaned the plaster dust off these before painting and stands out like dogs balls. We have spent alot of money on this build as has everyone with their own builds we deserve a product that is close to 100% not near enough is good enough I havent got back to my site manager yet with my list but will have a meeting with him on Monday to his credit he is awesome at his job and im sure he will have everything fixed but 1 thing i can guarantee is we wont be having the house handed over to us next week Re: Metricon Glendale 41 Our Journey 249Aug 27, 2016 12:46 pm glendale41 So yesterday arvo i did my own walk through, basically i went over the entire house and wrote out a list of everything that needs to be repaired this took 4 hours, 9 pages of things that need to be repaired. That sounds like a lot of defects. I thought you were at the new house every night sweeping all the dust? That staining issue is unacceptable for sure. Hope they sorted it out for you.... @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Metricon Glendale 41 Our Journey 250Aug 27, 2016 4:04 pm I agree G41, we will be having a walk through with SS next week, and I can tell you, I also have pages of unacceptables for my build! You are spot on when you say the painting quality is terrible, no proper prep or cleaning was done, paint all over the tiles on pantry shelves etc and in places I can see the greyish blue colour of the plaster showing through. Staining is cow manure, no sanding was done and the stain looks yuck. Nothing like the rich charcoal stain of the display homes! and don't even get me started on the Windows... Big gaps between the window and bricks of house. Metricon think they'll get my money? Well they can friggen think again. I'm so glad that I refused to hand over the fixing invoice. None of these things would be issues if they just did things right the first time. My Metricon Glendale in Sydney. Re: Metricon Glendale 41 Our Journey 251Aug 27, 2016 5:43 pm To say we are ** off is an understatement HGM, we also have paint on our tiles and grout I drove past 1 night and the painters were still painting at 10pm obviously we don't have power to the site they had a flood light in there I forgot to mention in my rant before we have had issues with the way our plumbers fixed our downpipe brackets to the hebel, absolutely disgraceful the screws we're hanging out of the wall these have now been fixed but these same plumbers have silicone 1 of the toilets to the tiles with a 30mm piece of aluminium angle hanging out from under the toilet Re: Metricon Glendale 41 Our Journey 252Aug 27, 2016 6:22 pm Omg, they are a disgrace. Metricon should be ashamed of themselves for giving their customers substandard work. Yes the painters without sounding racist because I'm not, the painters did not speak English and I can guarantee they do not hold any certificate in painting or decorating. Metricon are saving money by sub contracting the various work out to the cheapest quote, and we suffer the consequences. Hmmm isn't it strange that they didn't offer me a discount in my contract if I agreed to substandard tradies? My Metricon Glendale in Sydney. Re: Metricon Glendale 41 Our Journey 253Aug 27, 2016 6:37 pm I'm goodness! I'm really feeling for you. How these companies think that is acceptable is beyond me! And how the tradies can have such little pride in their work is also sad. We would all be sacked for putting in a half baked effort like that!! What a crappy way to end your build. Hopefully your SS continues to work on these issues for you ASAP so hand over isn't too far delayed. I'm so sorry this is happening C U S T O M. C O R A L. I reckon M hates me because every phone call I have with my SM I talk about what issues I have seen that need correcting. Tried to go on site today to check in and was told by the contractor I couldn't whilst he was there so I drove an hour for nothing! Anyway I'll be back in a few days to check on the progress and I really wish you the best. We will give Metricon the chance to prove that they are Australia's best builder, we will not slag Metricon but we are extremely disappointed with some of the contractors that have worked on our home Re: Metricon Glendale 41 Our Journey 256Aug 29, 2016 5:01 pm Just to give an update today I went through the house with the site supervisor and we went through my list in every room he took a lot of photos was a very positive meeting and he assured me everything will be fixed which is mainly painting, like I said the other day everything I had on my list is cosmetic and can be fixed. Last week was stressful but after today's meeting we are really happy again Re: Metricon Glendale 41 Our Journey 257Aug 29, 2016 5:11 pm glendale41 Just to give an update today I went through the house with the site supervisor and we went through my list in every room he took a lot of photos was a very positive meeting and he assured me everything will be fixed which is mainly painting, like I said the other day everything I had on my list is cosmetic and can be fixed.
