Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 27, 2014 10:47 pm Hi all We finally moved in, all in all happy with most aspects of henleys services. Like all builder they tried to get away with some short cuts. most annoying trades have been carpenter and tiler. Capenter did such rough work and shortcuts that it made me happy to pay for our own inspections. The tiler was rough too. Now moved in for 3 nights and my big upset is on handover the house flooring hadnt even been cleaned. I gave the porcelain gloss tiles a good steam clean, but it still has patches or marks on them, then did a normal mop with pine o clean and warm water, and it is still there all over the house mainly but on the sides near the walls? Could it be wax? If so it just doesnt come off!! Re: Henley home finally moved in! 2Jul 27, 2014 11:16 pm So I have just gone through this all .ok so what colour are your tiles .mine are light . And I was getting do pxissed that I couldnt get mine clean . I rang the shop where I bought them from .the sales rep came and a product rep and he came with same cleaning stuff . It was wax . But I have 170sqm the cleaning stuff is called nanno scrub . You wet the tiles tgen put a few donts of this cream on each tile , mop over and rinse . Or get on your hand and knees . He also said over time the wax could lift . Do you see it more it when the blinds are up? . Im not doing mine just yet .im just happy at the moment to have a solution you probley notice the wax more when the tiles are dirty .I hope that helps . Oh I never got mine through my builder . But as you did I would ring them and get them to clean them Re: Henley home finally moved in! 3Sep 19, 2014 2:15 am Good luck with the tiles. If you haven't sorted it out, find out the manufacturer and ask the technical rep... they are sometimes very good. By the way if things go wrong in future... and their maintenance team fixes the same thing more than once, then they are probably band-aiding the symptom and not the underlying cause ... the defects. Most things (apart from hinges and door handles and the like) don't need maintenance during the first 6.5 years, they need rectification, because they shouldn't have gone wrong in that time frame. And if you ever get a building consultant (people call them inspectors, but they are not building inspectors) to help identify defects (before end of warranty I suggest), make sure they have a definition of defect that includes all implied warranties including manufacturer requirements and that they get on the roof and inside the roof space (not flat roof of course), and look at roof plumbing... many do not, so ask for a copy or ask them to read out their disclaimers before you hire is the best policy. Good luck. Leonardo_23 Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down. So i would recommend you follow your approved landscaping plans to… 4 10973 Hi Simeon, Thank you for laying it down for us. Makes sense. Appreciate it very much. Have a nice day. Cheers 2 9012 Hi, If you give a set of criteria as to what means 'good' to you, it'll give others prompts to respond. We considered Henley early on but there were two factors that… 1 10509 |
