Cant wait to see those tiles go in. I've given up on getting keys before our lease runs out. Wonder how HGWA will feel with a family of three + 1 beagle taking up residence in their pre start room? At least I know there is a working toilet and sink in there! Bonus!! Re: Asha's HGWA build - Tile meeting 995Nov 22, 2014 7:09 pm Ouch 10 weeks! Usually 6 weeks from tiler. Well depending how many trades you get in yourself after handover. Perhaps thats including the christmas break Re: Asha's HGWA build - Tile meeting 996Nov 23, 2014 1:49 pm Marcia Yay for tile meeting. Cant wait to see those tiles go in. At least I know there is a working toilet and sink in there! Bonus!! Haha Marcia would love to see the look on their faces when you lot rock up at the front door! Asha you kitchen is divine! What is with these timelines though...I hope that 10 weeks includes the chrissie break!! Its just not good enough when people are trying to organise their lives around a build. I wish we had thought of just pulling things out of the build and doing them ourselves afterwards...you might be onto a winner there! Re: Asha's HGWA build - Tile meeting 997Nov 26, 2014 8:49 am 10 weeks!!!!!! unbelievable. that must mean ours will be 14 weeks at least. After getting told handover would be approx. early January. I can see pigs flying out of the corner of my eye........... Re: Asha's HGWA build - Tile meeting 998Nov 26, 2014 9:27 am auds can see pigs flying out of the corner of my eye........... I reckon that has to hurt more than them pulling dates out of their backs...s! Yep, the timelines leave ALOT to be desired. I have family who are SS for other builders and they all say that these timelines are taking the mickey. Yes, it gets harder after lock up because the builder is no longer in control of the trades, they are having to work with outside companies, but it can be done quicker if they really, really want. Re: Asha's HGWA build - Tile meeting 999Nov 26, 2014 12:12 pm Your kitchen looks incredible! and yay for tile meeting. 10 weeks must surely include the Xmas break, that does seem like awhile but maybe they're just covering themselves... who knows with builders! Re: Asha's HGWA build - Tile meeting 1000Nov 26, 2014 1:21 pm Sorry to everyone who has posted recently - I have been kinda avoiding my thread. After hearing 10 weeks til handover I got the s$#ts on. On top of that our walk in shower has had a few issues that I've had to get my head around - all sorted now but boy was it doing my head in. Not only that but I have come to the realisation albeit late that if I wanted to move into a completed house a) Dont go on an expensive holiday mid build b) Dont try to pay off a new car in one year (especially the same year you are building) c) Dont insist on paying for absolutely everything from site works, septics, pool, shed through to splashbacks etc outside of your mortgage. Anyways whats done is done and I am sure we will finish it but it will just take a bit longer to get there The last home I lived in didn't have a pool and when i went to sell it the agents were not happy, even telling me to put one in to sell the place.
