Hi All,
Would love some advice / recommendations from you
Our home is 3 years young. We have a colorbond roof but we have absolutely no sarking or anticon under our roof, (who knew this wasn’t a standard thing?)
Not only is it loud when it rains but we’re starting to experience mould under our alfresco due to the condensation in our roof.
I don’t think our ceiling insulation is adequate enough to compensate for the cold temps in the roof - it’s been really cold in Melbourne this weekend and I just feel like our house is so cold (was walking around with layers and a scarf on most of the day).
My kids bedrooms never seem to warm up despite having the heater only zoned to their rooms and the common zone and not the rest of the house.
So two questions for you all:
Has anyone had spray insulation foam put on the inside of their colorbond sheets? Does it make a difference or is there anything else you could recommend (please keep in mind my husband is not handy at all)
Secondly, should I put another layer (maybe R2 soundbatts) on the top of our R4 ceiling batts, would this help deaden the sound of rain AND make the house warmer??
Thanks so much in advance for any answers or advice.
