Pretty darn happy. Having a sneak through today I was able to pick up a couple of things that I will formally point out at the PCI on Thursday - hallway door frame, although painted..the wood is all chipped out so it doesn't look right. I wonder how much work it will be to replace a door frame or if they will even do it!? The rest is just little paint touch ups. Ours is just about to hit lock up, brickies are doing a great job so far, very neat work. I never thought to check about obscure glazing either, looks like we are all in the same boat with that one. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1033Apr 23, 2014 10:42 am Thanks jameshunt. Your house is at lock up already!!? Awesome. How many weeks has that been now? I have my formal inspection tomorrow...I'm a bit nervous! I get so overwhelmed when I'm in there with the builder that I'm so worried I will miss things. I'm too busy saying "wow" to really notice the detail. I'm going to make sure I walk around by myself and put my concentrating hat on. Haha. I will pop in probably on FRI to have a look myself !! ruby123 hi guys!!!! just a question for who ever can help. especially you bkoolrocks since your building the vogue. we have been given a surprise by having normal windows in the bathroom and ensuite. we thought they were suppose to be obscure. now everyone can see me in the bath ekkkk! its this normal? I thought it was in the standard inclusions for obsure glazing!!!!! if not will so be replacing the glass ASAP when we move in 9/4/14-Site Start 9/5/14-Slab 16/5/14-Frame 21/5/14-Roof 31/5/14-Bricks 6/6/14-Plaster 14/6/14-Fixing 19/7/14 -Flooring 8/8/14 - Keys http://newnestinmelbourne.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1035Apr 23, 2014 10:53 am We are at 7 weeks in today pooks, they are moving fast considering all the rain we have had. I'll pop up on Friday and get some pics if I don't get rained on. :p Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1036Apr 23, 2014 10:58 am it should be in your addenda bkoolrocks. standard inclusions say obsure to wc- but that's a separate toilet I think. cant believe we all missed it. I'd rather some plantation shutters over the tub. That being said, my toilet and ensuite do have the glazing. So impressed with everyone's build! Mine can't start soon enough! Site start on Monday. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1038Apr 23, 2014 12:47 pm Ahhh I'm gonna have to check mine for the glazing too! Although you've just put the idea of plantation shutters in my mind Gaviscon... So I FINALLY got to see my block on Saturday! I was like a kid in a candy store, was just walking laps around it and grinning like an idiot. I may have been caught by construction workers swinging around my street t sign, oops. Pegs are all there, there's no rubbish on the lot, and I could see they've done the soil testing already. I had a sticky beak down the holes they'd made - they didn't hit water or rock. Happy days It's definitely a clay block, so here's hoping it's not too reactive. I also was lucky enough to be at the site at the same time as my neighbours, and they're absolutely lovely. Plans are already in place for wine and getting fences done, so I'm super pleased. So, the loan refresh and settlement drama. My conveyancer got my settlement extended to 28 days, from 14, without penalty. The valuation came back spot on again, and last night I found out the the loan is also fine. I can finally breathe again. So looks like I'll settle towards the end of next week! Ahhhhh it's finally all happening. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 1039Apr 23, 2014 6:58 pm OMG! We got a water bill! $35 I vaguely remember others got one in their early days.
