Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Switch Homes 270 Bayswater - scaffolding down 113Aug 30, 2014 9:42 pm Progress at last! The brickies turned up Thursday and finished off the last bit of the kitchen wall so at last the roof carpenters could get started. The roof guys got as much done as they could before the storm on Friday and even turned up on Saturday to do some more! The brickies are good at stretching things out because we still need them to add about a dozen bricks to the living room roof side (need that before a small section of roof can be done), brick the stairs and a wall in the garage behind the meter box. But thank goodness we are now moving in the right direction towards lock up again! And all the outside has had its first grey render coat. I'll be glad when we're not waiting on them for anything any more! Thanks Bradster181 Re: Switch Homes 270 Bayswater - downstairs roof beams up 117Aug 31, 2014 11:53 pm Nothing wrong with the occasional dummy spit viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Switch Homes 270 Bayswater - downstairs roof beams up 118Sep 02, 2014 11:47 pm Still no sign of brickies! Not sure why it has to be so hard to come and finish a job and have something ticked off as completed. I'm guessing they didn't realise about the dozen bricks that needed to go on the living room side. The roof carpenters gave up waiting and have done the frame there at least. I rang the CLO today to find out whats happened to the brickies and she said she'll get back to me. She did say that the electrical and plumbing will be done over the coming days and roof tiles are scheduled for the middle of next week. The solar guy finished off the electrical wiring to the meter box today - he was the only one there. Also our neighbours over the back are keen for a new fence because the current cement sheeting one is falling over, which is fine by us so thats going in next week apparently. Re: Switch Homes 270 Bayswater - downstairs roof beams up 119Sep 03, 2014 10:05 pm Maybe my phone call worked because we had brickies today. They finished those last few bricks for the roof on the living room side - so that just leaves the stairs and the wall behind the meter box. Small steps... The electrician did some fit out today so hopefully we are on track for tiles next week.
