Blog: http://dandesbuild.blogspot.com.au Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 934Apr 02, 2014 4:09 pm Pooks that's fantastic news! 6 weeks will go in no time and you'll be moving in Bkoolrocks congrats on finally being handed over to the construction team. Not much to report on our build. Drove past yesterday and still working on the roof. Got our frame invoice. Our bank has been stuffing us around. Hopefully I'll know soon how much our payments go up too. I can see it starting to hurt while paying rent. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 935Apr 02, 2014 4:20 pm Hi Everyone. Been following this thread for a while and thought I'd sign up.
I'm about to build with homebuyers and have already had my colour appointment and contract signing. Has anyone had any luck in changing a colour selection after contract signing? Basically I went into the selection day with one of their selections in mind, that (I thought) was very similar to a display home I like. I wanted to change the window colour and they were fine with that. However in the colour selection the roof tile was not the same as the house I had been picturing and meant my window colour change resulted in the fascia needing to change, and I kind've just went along with what the consultant recommended (I couldn't rethink all my choices on the fly). It's been a few weeks since and I have been stewing on the colours since. So far I've been told that its against policy to change colours after contract signing but was hoping if anyone else has had any luck?? thanks edit: I should add my block is still 6+months away and nothing has progressed further Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 936Apr 02, 2014 4:24 pm Yeah it hurts while paying rent...really hurts! Haha. Hi Aurora912- welcome to the thread! I was able to change my carpet after selections...with a little bit of insistence but not sure about colours. I know they don't like people changing stuff but at the end of the day I would ask because you haven't signed final plans and when I was reading through the material it is at that stage you really can't change...but doing it before that is just a variation. You have to be happy with your choices so I would give it a go Build Permit-17/12/13 Earthworks-13/1/14 Slab-30/1/14 Frame-10/2/14 Lock Up-7/3/14 Fixing Stage Complete-20/3/14 New Home Presentation-6/5/14 Moved in 17/5/14! I will get onto them again and see what they do. I really don't want to let a piece of paperwork for them affect a house I need to live with. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 938Apr 02, 2014 4:53 pm I would definitely contact hbc and try to change the colour aurora. I changed my garage door a few months after my prestart appointment. hbc said it was just a matter of making a change on the addenda as they hadn't ordered anything yet. Yikes so exciting! To give you guys an idea of our build time this week is week 9 and the painter is on site...
