Some of them are very good but cost a fortune. Others are not so good and are obviously cheaper but leave a lot to be desired when it comes to integration etc. I've yet to come across one package that does it all, doesn't cost an arm and a leg in installation and ongoing costs nor require someone with a PhD to rectify problems. Thanks for the idea! Re: Did you leave your garage door open? 9Jan 05, 2017 3:55 pm Z-Wave user here with garage door sensor. I can testify this work well. You need a controller hub ($200+), plus a sensor ($60+) to get started. You can add stuff like light and socket controls etc and control it all from the interweb Beware though, you need to get your z-wave gear locally because the frequencies they use in EU/US are different. There are loads of AU suppliers (I recommend CapitalSmartHomes- I'm not affiliated with them, but they've just given me good service compared to others) Re: Did you leave your garage door open? 11Sep 26, 2017 11:10 am Security systems have made lives quite easy now. You can check the garage door from your smart phone. Open/close it from mobile. You can check the lights, check if you left the iron on, keep a check on your kids while they are at home and you in office. All security systems are now pet friendly so pets are also not a problem Re: Did you leave your garage door open? 12Apr 15, 2020 4:46 pm I don't need to worry because my smart locks work well Cupcake.girl This really depends on your local council.
