Just thinking in advance here.
I have read several threads about replacing and upgrading video intercoms and my builder has included a black and white intercom in the contract. I'm not sure what brand it will be, I think it will be an old cheap one like Vallet with the hand set. We always thought that we will upgrade to a modern color screen one after handover.

We will have 1 screen hardwired down stairs and was wondering if there is a brand out there that that we can replace it with that will allow us to have a second wireless screen upstairs (since there is no wiring there).

So basically, 1 updated replacement hardwired downstairs and the second one wireless upstairs. Is this possible?
Hard wiring a second one upstairs would be to fiddly. Would be great to see who's at the door from upstairs.
Is there any think on the market that would allow for this type of set up?

One intercom hardwired ground floor, another one wireless first floor? Possible?
Feel free to 'chime' in ...anyone?

Hi Starz, I haven't personally seen this set up with both a hard wired and a wireless but if you pop "wireless video intercom" into google, there are several companies that come up. Uniden is one of them. Have a look through and possibly give them a call to talk about your particular setup. The ones I've seen are purely wireless or purely wired.

Thank you so much for the reply Eskay.

Have been searching on google for quite some time. Just thought there was a product the reads a signal from the main (wired) base and shows on the wireless screen.
Looks like there isn't any.

No, to use a wireless screen, the base unit would have to have a wireless transmitter built into it, as well as the hardwired part.
