Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Custom build - The Pavilions - Sunny SEQ 61Nov 04, 2013 8:35 am Thanks Wakudoki Some people love it, some hate it, for some it too big a stretch to move away from the traditional concept of what a house should look like, but everyone wants to walk through it, check it out and talk about it Most of the trades like working on it and all the younger guys 20 - 30 year olds want to know if it was expensive to build! Everyone likes the breezeway, especially on a hot day The build - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67554 The Yard - viewtopic.php?f=19&t=67695 Re: Custom build - The Pavilions - Sunny SEQ 62Nov 04, 2013 3:10 pm Treeseachanger - I know the downrod and motor covers are aluminum with timber look paint(?) I imagine the blades are the same. I can confirm once it's installed. Fingercrossed it goes up today. Hopefully some undercoating but that's about it! The floors will be exciting, can't wait to see pics. Re: Custom build - The Pavilions - Sunny SEQ 67Nov 05, 2013 5:41 pm Slight hiccup with ceiling fan in living area. The additional loom (wiring) to go through the 91cm downrod was the wrong one. I have since replaced the wiring and connected it to check it's the right one. It is now all good to go up for Thursday when electricians are back. So here's a pic of the fan on the floor Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Rangehood & hot water systems are going in today and bobcat was on site cleaning up around the house, so I should have more pictures later this week. In the interim went around picking up some of the rubbish that gets blown around and had a chat to the bobcat operator (nice guy) and asked if he could (after the house) tidy up a some mysterious deep ruts and garden waste (not ours) that we have on the block. Some of the ruts are so deep the ride on mower can't go over them. I also asked him to spread out some soil leftover from running in the power and onsite sewage. We have a lot of left over soil. Lucky for us one of our neighbours across the road has his own earthmoving business. When we get serious about our landscaping I plan to stroll over and ask if he wants some work close to home one day. I suspect some soil is going to go to someone who needs fill. Quietly, I think one of our neighbours is going to be happy tonight when they get home to find the leftover mounds of dirt (from trenching for power) are gone. The mounds are on our land, but they have gotten unsightly recently and the one and only time we had to mow we went around the mounds. When I drove off today the birds were having a great time at the newly turned soil. Hope you enjoyed the today's long story. Re: Custom build - The Pavilions - Sunny SEQ 68Nov 06, 2013 7:25 am The fan will look great, these things are sent to test our patience lol. Site clean ups do make such a difference, I'm sure when you're ready your neighbour will be happy to work so close to home...you sound 10 steps ahead like me lol. Re: Custom build - The Pavilions - Sunny SEQ 69Nov 07, 2013 4:10 pm Funny things happen on build sites, a thousand eyes can look at something and never see it until the equivalent of a bullseye target is placed on it. Just for giggles here is a example, currently filed under "what the" .…

We plan on walking through once power is on (perhaps tonight) and check if we really need it, given there is a security light not far from it. The electricians are coming back to install oven at a later date. With power on we will be checking how this performs as well.
