A shower (not over the bath). Yes decent sized kitchen. Dining room (not necessarily a formal one). Not to boxy but not TOO open plan. You do need some privacy. Enough power points. Natural light. A verandah (at least enough so you aren't in the rain. I've seen some with nothing over the front door. Big doors to the backyard I love the indoor outdoor to a big deck. Our house has an open layout but plenty of doors to close off areas for heating/cooling & to reduce noise. Ducted vacuum system. Ok, I admit I could live without it but it is so handy! Particularly the vacsweep in the kitchen. Heaps of storage, all built in robes, big pantry & big linen press. Ducted vaccuuming, heating of some sort, ceiling fans, decent sized rooms especially kitchen! Walk in pantry... oh the list goes on Cupboard space is important but it's one of those things I never thought about when chosing a home, I think we'll have enough though! ...and quality furniture - VERY important. I hate WCs in the middle of bathrooms. I've read that is old school to have separate toilets but I am with you - I hate the toilets in bathrooms!
