Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 24, 2014 12:59 pm My apartment unit is directly facing a busy road, and I'm looking to install some noise insulation to reduce the noise. I've heard my property agent mentioned double glazing, but my balcony wall isn't brick, it's a fibro / plywood material (see attached photo). Has anyone been in similar circumstances? Will double glazing help reduce noise? Also what service should I search to get the work done, I assume some kind of noise insulation consultant? Like a chain it is the weakest link that will fail. If you do just the windows, the wall will let the sound through. You don't need an acoustic engineer or any other " specialist " either, just a builder or carpenter who knows what they're doing. Acoustic batts in the wall frame then soundchek plasterboard on the inside.
