I am a naughty 'owner builder' we did a major renovation on our place, we had building permit but i never got around to organising inspections, sign off and insurance. Fast forward, looks like i might be spiting from my fiancée and the house doesnt exactly suit my lifestyle/goals anymore so i will be selling. So far i have rung the council, good news is although i didn't book my progress inspections they are counting my start date inside the 12 months of issue so no $220 renewal fee. - First win. I have my final inspection on monday, which i will no doubt fail as allot of plaster is up, so i will need to be organising stat decs from the subcontractors who did the 'building' and getting receipts, worse case scenario i may have to remove small sections of plaster for inspections. Next stage is an independent building inspector then insurance. Will keep this updated . Re: fixing my paper work stuff ups a log. 2Sep 01, 2008 1:16 pm Ok had the inspection today, looks like i will need to create some access holes for them to see some stuff, bugger. I still had to get the plasterer around again for a bulk head and some cornus so not the end of the world but annoying. Re: fixing my paper work stuff ups a log. 3Sep 01, 2008 7:52 pm Hi Sirgoat, lucky its only a few access holes which can be fixed! And if it means you can sell the place, all the better!
