Small house 2bath 2 toilets, kitchen island. Completion and installation of all required plumbing and gas 1/ all required drainage to Sewer. 2/ Water Service to all fixtures and hose taps. 3/ Gas supply to hot water unit and kitchen hotplate. 4/ The connection and commissioning of all fixtures. Does not include - Supply of fixtures, tap ware and hot water unit - Stormwater - connection of white goods Water meter to house is only 2m so no long pipes needed Re: Price for plumbing-new house 2Sep 17, 2015 7:16 pm That sounds fairly close to what I ended up paying. I'm surprised that he hasn't broken it down in to stages, such as drainage (done before slab laid down), rough in stage, final fit off. You will find that the total will be paid off in stages, so you'll get a bill for around a third of the total after the drainage is done. Your "does not include" list is correct, you have to pay extra for fixtures, tapware, hot water system, stormwater, and connection of your whitegoods (such as fridge, but you can do that yourself). Although my stormwater was done as part of the drainage, and the part above the ground to the gutter I did myself, and the plumber reduced his charges because I did that myself. Re: Price for plumbing-new house 5Sep 18, 2015 8:34 am BaiGanio Your house is is 100m from the front of the block ! Mine is only 2m away from front/water meter/ I think that this is huge difference. But I supplied the poly pipe, had the trench dug and backfilled, all they did was the same as you with the connection to the meter, so no additional costs there, other than the new council requirement of the non-return valve on this side of the meter. So effectively no difference. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Blog : http://bandlnewhomebuild.blogspot.com H1 thread : viewtopic.php?f=38&t=68283 . Re: Price for plumbing-new house 6Sep 18, 2015 2:03 pm BaiGanio Can someone enlighten me how plumbers do their quotes. I got quote for 15 000$ just end price no breakdown. It seems excessive for me. Most plumbers I have dealt with will charge you as much as they think they can get away with, as opposed to charging you for a fair days work. PLumbers will not get out of bed for less than $1000 a day ($125 ph), but will try for $1500 - $2000 a day if they think they can get away with it. But they will look you in the eye and tell you they are only working for $60 ph. Without know the details of your site and house design, its hard to say whether it is a fair price. It might be, but I also see scenarios where it is not a fair price. Bottled gas, or town gas just for one example. Quoting involves dead time and expense although it is a necessity to get work. Many plumbers will give a quote similar to yours in order to save time on what could otherwise be a long arduous exercise if everything was detailed. Always get at least 3 quotes. If you then select a plumber, ask for a more detailed quote before final acceptance if you are uneasy. Has the plumbing flow rates/pipe sizes and lengths already been hydraulically calculated or does the plumber chosen also need to do those? If the calculations have already been done, then the pipe type and sizes required would also be known. The plumbing has to be done to regulation, there can be no shortcuts. I suspect that you would realise this and your query isn't so much about the total cost breakdown but more about the staged payments etc. Yes/no? 3in1 Supadiverta.
