Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Aug 16, 2015 3:08 pm hi all We are about to start our journey and wanted to know how people have gone with cut and fill, we have a split slab design , the levels for the house slab is taken from the pad plan from council, we now are going to be looking for a earthworks contractor to cut and fill the site, Its a cut at the back and fill at the front, does this simply mean move soil from one part to another or will fill need to be brought in? Is it normal practice we hand over the plans to the earthworks guys and they will level accordingly? Or is there another survey needed for them? Will they then provide a report of the new levels or do we have to get a surveyor? Re: Site level after cut and fill 2Feb 10, 2016 1:31 pm It will depend on the condition of your soil- soil tests should give you the info you need. Any good earth moving contractor should be able to do what you want if you have detailed plans. They can prob give you a basic plan of what they ve done but a surveyour will do a more detailed plan. Just keep asking questions! PM me your email. I have a build excavation calculator you can use based on your plans to double check what your builder is telling you. At 17m long you need it… 1 17708 |
